Banish aches and pains at Island Shangri-La's Yun Wellness - the urban sanctuary will be providing light relief
Smooth yourself out for summer with a new wellness concept designed to align the body, relieve aches and pains and improve overall well-being.
Yun Wellness, Island Shangri-La’s luxury urban sanctuary, is welcoming functional therapist Lorenzo Arcuri to its fold this spring with talks and personalised sessions designed to improve fitness and mobility.
Arcuri is an Italian osteopath and Functional Patterns tutor. Functional Patterns is a system developed by American Naudi Aguilar 20 years ago which focuses on improving a patient’s biomechanics and natural movement by addressing imbalances, weaknesses and limitations in movement. Posture is an integral aspect of the system, with an emphasis on maintaining good posture and alignment in all movements.
Arcuri’s sessions are designed to enhance circulation and correct biomechanics using hands-on techniques such as gentle pressure and stretching.
His one-on-one sessions are suitable for anyone experiencing back, shoulder, hip and joint pain, or for those simply hoping to improve sporting performance, recover from surgery or correct movement patterns. Long-term goals include improvement in overall well-being, posture, confidence, as well as injury risk and pain reduction.
Arcuri will be ‘popping up’ at Island Shangri-La from May 13 to June 13. Sessions cost HK$1,880 for 60 minutes and HK$2,480 for 90 minutes.
Arcuri will also be leading a number of talks covering various topics, such as posture and chronic pain and improving natural movement for health. The talks are open to everyone and by joining a session, attendees can take advantage of a complimentary 15 minute consultation. The talks will be running on May 13, 17 and 22. More details can be found online.
