Dubai resort offers on-site testing

Atlantis, The Palm is offering free on-site PCR testing for guests.

A Dubai hotel has announced that it will be offering free in-resort covid-19 testing.

International guests who stay five nights or more at Atlantis, The Palm will be entitled to the PCR test. And what’s more, they will be able to undertake it from the comfort of their hotel room.

Results from the hotel-based test will be returned within 24 hours. Children under the age of 12, as well as passengers with disabilities, are exempt from testing requirements.

A popular ‘hub’ stopover location for Asia-based travellers, Dubai reopened to international visitors in July. However, guests travelling from Dubai onwards to the United Kingdom and Europe are required to take a covid-19 PCR test no more than 96 hours before departure. The printed, negative result must be presented at check-in before leaving the emirate. In addition, all passengers on Dubai’s flag carrier, Emirates, are required to carry a negative PCR health certificate.

“Using our on-site medical centre, the new PCR tests will help to reduce any travel inconveniences and encourage more international guests to visit,” said Timothy Kelly, executive vice president and managing director, Atlantis Dubai.

International guests are encouraged to check individual country requirements before travelling.
