The Tea Trio Mooncake Collection contains six pieces of two flavours; the Da Hong Pao Oolong mooncakes offer a rich, earthy profile, while the Jasmine Tea mooncakes deliver a warm, toasty finish. Or there’s a Pistachio Duo, a six-piece Mooncake Selection of custard-style mooncakes, or the imaginatively named ‘Buddha Jumps Over the Wall Mooncake’ gift set,containing four mooncakes filled with sea cucumber, dried conpoy, abalone, ham and dried shrimp.

Treat yourself to a box of limited-edition chocolate bonbons this Mid-Autumn Festival. The Baker & The Bottleman has partnered with local small-batch bean-to-bar craft chocolate company, Conspiracy Chocolate, to create these yummy handcrafted bonbons. They come in two flavours, The Moon with salted egg caramel and single-origin milk chocolate ganache inside a dark chocolate shell, and The Sky, a coffee and hazelnut combo with a hand-painted chocolate exterior designed to resemble a starry night sky.

Hong Kong's best mooncakes for Mid-Autumn Festival - the lantern gift box lights up to celebrate the season
Duddell’s restaurant may be temporarily closed, but this hasn’t stopped the dining spot from relaunching its Signature Gift Box this year. Containing six of Duddell’s signature custard mooncakes, the boxes come beautifully decorated. There’s also a new-launch, limited edition LED Lantern Gift Box with eight lava custard mooncakes presented in a reusable lantern-style box that lights up. The restaurant is also collaborating with tea house Saicho for the exclusive Duddell’s x Saicho Gift Box with six lava custard mooncakes and two bottles of Saicho’s newly launched Osmanthus Sparkling Tea.

The exclusive Mid-Autumn bite fuses caviar and cheese to create an indulgent and unusual mooncake. Caviar crystals are embedded within a creamy blend of Hokkaido mascarpone, white cheddar and parmesan; sprinkled on top is a crumbly and sweet cheese cookie to balance the umami and saltiness of the cheese and caviar.

Multiple gift sets include white lotus seed puree mooncakes with double yolks, lava egg custard mini mooncakes and egg custard mini mooncakes. Three new flavours this year have been introduced in the Momoyama mini mooncakes and include pistachio, coffee and sea salt and lemon curd. The luxury Belgian chocolatier is launching its début Mid-Autumn collection this year, including three redesigned chocolate ‘tartes’ in the shape of a full moon, four seasonal chocolates and five gift boxes. The decadent chocolate ‘tartes’ have been crafted with a crisp pastry shell and smooth chocolate mousse layers; flavours include dark chocolate ganache, hazelnut chocolate and strawberry chocolate. And Godiva’s chocolatier chefs have blended four ingredients, including chestnut, pecan, apple and sea salt, to create four limited-edition chocolate bites. Gift boxes contain 12, 14, 16, 21 or 28 pieces of chocolate, or opt for a Mid-Autumn Delight or Mid-Autumn Harmony hamper.

The mooncakes are thoughtfully presented in a wooden box (that could easily be repurposed as a stylish storage box) with recyclable paper dividers.

Contemporary Cantonese restaurant Hopewell Inn at Wan Chai’s Hopewell Hotel presents its début mooncake collection this Mid-Autumn Festival following the hotel’s opening earlier this year. The culinary team has crafted traditional mini white lotus seed paste with egg yolk mooncakes and mini red bean paste mooncakes with mandarin peel, using Xinhui mandarin peel to complement the Tianjin red beans. In traditional style, the wine-red circular gift box symbolises the full moon.
