The 2026 International Cities of Gastronomy Fest, Macao, opens today, bringing together 40 UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy from around the world.


There are five major highlights including:


  • The International Gastronomy Promenade

  • City of Gastronomy Showcase

  • International Gastronomy Forum, Macao


And debuting this year are:


  • World Wines Lounge

  • Global Goodies Market


International Gastronomy Promenade

Encompassing 100 food booths, including 28 booths representing Chinese mainland cities, 32 from South and North America, Africa and Asia, and 40 from Macao. The Promenade is your chance to taste flavours from around the world. Around 800 dining seats will be available in catering zones along the Promenade, as well as the chance to enjoy live entertainment and a game zone.

5 to 10pm (Monday to Friday), midday to 10 pm (weekends), March 20 to 29, Roman Amphitheatre Square and Legend Boulevard of Macau Fisherman’s Wharf.


City of Gastronomy Showcase

Chefs from 25 Creative Cities of Gastronomy will share their culinary skills and culture in more than 50 live sessions. Visitors  will  have the opportunity to enjoy the flavours from different cities at on-site sampling sessions. Contributing to the event will be two young chefs working in Macao and a South African chef who have been chosen to participate in the Young Chefs Programme, a United Nations’ Food & Agriculture Organisation initiative. 

5 to 9.45pm (Monday to Friday), 3 to 9.45pm (weekends), March 20 to 29, Roman Amphitheatre Square and Legend Boulevard of Macau Fisherman’s Wharf.


International Gastronomy Forum, Macao

Taking place under the theme of ‘Creative Fusion: Reimagining Gastronomy Beyond the Plate’, participants will explore how to advance the development of the Creative Cities and create connection between daily life and sustainable development by weaving together stories, experience and creativity. There will be three keynote sessions and three breakout sessions. UNESCO Creative Cities Network representative, international content creators and culinary and academic professionals will share their insights to inspire the industry.

9.30am to 12.30pm, March 23, Macau Fisherman’s Wharf Convention & Exhibition Centre.


World Wines Lounge

This event gathers wine companies from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Australia and France to present products including wines, beers, whiskeys and spirits. The Lounge will partner with food booths for visitors to explore the products alongside delicacies designed to enhance the tasting experience.

5 to 10pm (Monday to Friday), midday to 10pm (weekends), Jackson Square of Macau Fisherman’s Wharf.


Global Goodies Market

With more than 40 booths showcasing food-related products from 16 Creative Cities of Gastronomy including Macao, as well as five Creative Cities in other fields. Browse packaged food, distinctive sauces, food souvenirs, utensils and kitchenware. There will also be special booths themed after the Macao Classic Brands and coffee. Tuck in and enjoy interactive performances. 

5 to 10pm (Monday to Friday), 3 to 10pm (weekends), Pedestrian Zone along Rua de Cantão and Rua de Xangai in ZAPE district.


Macao was designated a Creative City of Gastronomy in 2017, recognising the city’s unique gastronomic culture shaped by eastern and western influences. The event is now in its third year and the 2026 edition of the ‘Fest’ sees the event expand and debut new highlights. 


Roman Amphitheatre Square and Legend Boulevard of Macau’s Fisherman’s Wharf at ZAPE have been chosen once again as the main venue of the Fest. A new community venue joins the event in the vicinity of Rua de Cantão and Rua de Xangai, also in the ZAPE district.


Special offers and activities will be launched during the Fest, including instant-discount red packets for electronic payment on food and drink and a lucky draw, themed games at the main venue and free coffee at the community venue.
