Regent Seven Seas returns to sailing

Seven Seas Splendor sets sail from the UK this September.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced its return to sailing with Seven Sea’s Splendor’s inaugural season.

The ship will hit the high seas in September, marking both the cruise line’s return to service as well as Splendor’s first cruise season. The ship was christened in February 2020 and since then has only completed two cruises.

Regent Seven Seas hopes to preserve its originally planned itineraries as much as possible and Splendor will set sail on September 11 from Southampton on an 11 night voyage visiting Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland. She will then transition to the Mediterranean and finally cross the Atlantic to sail in the Caribbean in early 2022.

“Come September we will have the double celebration of our return to the seas as we also recommence the inaugural season of the ship that perfects luxury, Seven Seas Splendor,” said Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ president Jason Montague. “Seven Seas Splendor was one of the most highly-anticipated ships to launch in the history of cruising, and my promise to our loyal and eager guests is that without a doubt she will be worth the wait.”

The remainder of Regent’s fleet will be confined to port as voyage suspensions have been extended until September 30.

All Regent ships will eventually sail under the SailSAFE health and safety programme developed with guidance from public health and scientific experts and the SailSAFE Global Health and Wellness Council. All guests and crew must have received both vaccination jabs at least two weeks before departure and further Covid-19 testing will also be carried out.
