Standard Chartered Arts in the Park shimmies into Causeway Bay

Standard Chartered Arts in the Park - don't miss the dazzling night parade

Victoria Park in Causeway Bay will be welcoming the colourful Standard Chartered Arts in the Park event next month.

This annual outdoor festival is organised by Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation with the aim of promoting art in schools. This year’s event is set to be the largest to date and is inspired by classic fairy tales like Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, The Emperor’s New Clothes, Jack and the Beanstalk, Aladdin and The Happy Prince. 

Highlights include an illuminated Night Parade and the Grand Finale Parade on the closing day. And don't miss the ten-metre tall puppets, creative art booths, live storytelling (in both English and Cantonese), African drumming workshops, live performances and more than 900 pieces of artwork. 

The Night Parade takes place at Lee Gardens Area in Causeway Bay from 8.30pm on November 14 and this year’s expanded parade features five illuminated giant puppets and 18 twinkling costumes created by local professional artists. As well there will be more  than 150 performers, including  a juggling team, a marching band and a rope skipping troupe, as well as dance and live music performances.

The Grand Finale Parade starts at Victoria Park at 2.30pm on November 15 and features four, fairy tale-inspired giant puppets, professional dancers and 500 young participants including students from 100 local schools.
