JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort, Maldives

JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort is JW Marriott’s second resort to open in the Maldives and is located in Kaafu Atoll’s largest lagoon and just 15 minutes by speedboat from the country’s international airport. 


The resort welcomes families with its signature Family by JW programme featuring curated experiences for the whole family, such as cooking classes using produce from the JW Garden. There’s also a Kids’ and Teens’ Club with a playground and a child-friendly pool


Accommodation comprises private pool villas, including overwater pool villas, with expansive terraces and spectacular views over the sparkling Indian ocean. The largest villa, the three-bedroom Ocean Residence is tailored for families or bigger groups.


The resort is also part of a collaboration with INVENA, a climate technology company that works to protect low-lying island nations from the effects of climate change. The initiative has led to the development of a 30m underwater coastal structure to reduce the impact of wave action and combat beach erosion. It will also foster a reef habitat, attracting fish and corals.


Dining options include seven bars and restaurants and there's also a resort spa.



JATI, Cambodia

A barefoot villa resort has opened on Cambodia's Koh Russey


Cambodia’s secluded Koh Rong archipelago is hotting up as a must-do destination with the opening of another luxury resort on its sandy shores. JATI is an 82-villa barefoot resort on the private island of Koh Russey. Guests access the resort via speedboat from a private jetty at Ream Beach, just minutes from Sihanoukville airport. The resort is a boat ride of about ten minutes away. If you're travelling from Phnom Penh, the new Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville highway will have you in the port town in just over two hours.


JATI is owned and operated by HMD Asia, the same hospitality group that runs Southeast Asian resorts including Shinta Mani hotels in Cambodia and Park Hyatt and La Residence d’Angkor in Siem Reap. Stylish accommodation at the family-friendly resort on Koh Russey runs to one and two bedroom Khmer-inspired villas, some with private pools located directly on the sand. There’s also a gym and spa and a soon-to-be-opened Seahorse Kids Club, welcoming youngsters with beach adventures and games.


Recreation facilities are being introduced in phases over the first few months of operation and will eventually include a racquet and sports club for tennis and pickleball, basketball, mini golf, badminton, Thai boxing, paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkelling and bike riding along island trails. Dining includes traditional Khmer cuisine and international dishes at Arun beach cafe, cocktails at Banyan Lounge in the shade of a banyan tree and seafood and barbecue options at Beach Club.



Four Points by Sheraton Bintan, Lagoi Bay, Indonesia

Bintan is a one-hour ferry ride from Singapore


Indonesia’s popular Bintan Island celebrated the Grand Opening of Four Points by Sheraton Bintan, Lagoi Bay earlier last month. The resort soft-launched a year ago and is now fully open.


The oceanfront resort features rooms, villas, a spa, fitness centre, two restaurants, a beach club and a fully supervised kids club. The resort has direct beach access with ocean views over the Singapore Strait and tranquil surroundings.


Accommodation runs from entry-point standard Deluxe Rooms, to Executive Suites, Cabana Ocean Suites with private terraces and eight Oceanfront Villas with private pools and sweeping sea views.

Dining spots include Rempah Kitchen and Aarinda Lounge, as well as El Lagoi Beach Club with live DJ sets, fresh seafood and Indonesian craft beers.


The resort’s Sa’kai Spa offers curated Indonesian treatments and there’s also a 24-hour fitness centre.

Bintan is a one-hour ferry ride from Singapore. Guests can expect sandy beaches and clear waters at Lagoi Bay, perfect for water sports. There’s also a nearby mangrove tour and guests can pay a visit to Safari Lagoi, a home for rescued endangered animals. And Lagoi Plaza offers plenty of retail and dining options.


Four Points by Sheraton Bintan, Lagoi Bay is accessible by daily ferry service, from Singapore guests can take the service from Tanah Merah Port to Bandar Bentan Telani Port in Lagoi with a complimentary transfer service from the port to the resort.



Radisson Resort Mui Ne, Vietnam

Radisson Resort Mui Ne has opened on the secluded shores of Suoi Nuoc beach in southern Vietnam. The family-friendly property is three hours drive from the international airport at Ho Chi Minh. It's a punchy distance but guests are rewarded with a stunning beachside destination that blends golden sands and turquoise waters with all the mod cons of a luxury, eco-resort. 


Suoi Nuoc’s famous white sand dunes have earned the area the nickname ‘Vietnam’s mini-Sahara’ and the surrounding region boasts a trove of natural and cultural attractions, from the nearby freshwater lakes to Ta Cu Mountain, Thuy Tu Temple and Ke Ga Lighthouse. The area is a top spot for kite and windsurfing; off-property experiences include kayaking, sandsurfing, windsurfing and hiking.


The resort itself offers rooms and pool villas as well as spacious family suites. Onsite activities embrace kite surfing and paddle boarding, spa facilities and a kids’ club.


Eco-credentials include organic dining options from locally sourced ingredients including all the coffee served at the water, drinking water is bottled on-site and the resort uses solar-powered energy.



Regent Bali Canggu, Indonesia

This spectacular new addition to Bali’s resort portfolio is located on Canggu Beach on the island’s southwestern coast. 


The all-suites and villa beachfront resort offers the world’s first Regent Sap, as well as five dining spots, no fewer than nine pools and a Regent Club. Regent Kids, with an indoor and outdoor playground, is slated to open later in the year


Accommodation has sea or garden views and direct lagoon access. Entry-level Studio Suites feature oasis bathrooms with hand-carved teak bathtubs and rain showers.

Meanwhile, the two-bedroom Penthouse Oceanfront includes a private infinity pool, fully equipped kitchen and terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean. 


Restaurant options run from a signature restaurant, Taru, serving Indonesian dishes, to Sazon, a Spanish hideaway, and Cure, a modern European restaurant which will open later in 2025.


The first-ever Regent-branded spa will also open later this year. The spa menu will feature scrubs, wraps and massages and skincare treatments using Kerstin Florian products. The space includes seven treatment rooms, a sauna, plunge pool and a ‘Beauty Hub’ with services for hands, feet and face. The Health Club features a mat-based studio for yoga and a spacious gym.



Rosewood Miyakojima

Enjoy southern Japan at Rosewood Miyakojima


The glamorous Rosewood Miyakojima resort opened earlier this month located on a remote peninsula on a tropical island off the south coast of mainland Japan. Known as the ‘Island of Prayers’, Miyakojima belongs to the Ryukyu archipelago. Rosewood Miyakojima is the first Rosewood hotel to open in Japan.


The family-friendly resort offers the Rosewood’s Rose Buds programme, which caters for newborns and toddlers up to the age of three years with baby care essentials and a babysitting service. For children aged four to 12 years, the Rosewood Explorers Club offers myriad activities themed to the local environment; they can try their hand at crafts like origami, sea glass art and temporary tattoos inspired by ‘hajichi’, Okinawa’s traditional skin art. 


The beachfront resort has direct access to the sands of Oura Bay, offering just 55 guest rooms which include beachfront and ocean view villas and three larger houses. All have views of Miyakojima’s famous blue waters with designs inspired by local Ryukyu architecture. 


Accommodation is divided into five zones across the peninsula, each one showcasing a different aspect of the island’s nature. ‘Daya’ villas look out onto the dramatic cliffside, while ‘Mui’ villas sit in the peace of the mountains. ‘Uru’ villas open directly onto the beach.


Activities take advantage of the stunning location. Swim with turtles on the coral reefs, learn the ancient art of spearfishing, try your hand at ‘togei’, Japanese pottery and ‘adan’, weaving with leaves, or a host of other traditional Japanese arts.



Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, Thailand

Aman Nai Lert is set amongst the greenery of Bangkok's Nai Lert Park


Aman’s Thai city sanctuary, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, follows quickly on the heels of Aman Tokyo and Anam New York as the hospitality group’s third urban gateway. 


The property opens its doors on April 2 at the privately owned Nai Lert Park in the centre of Bangkok as an all-suite hotel. It will host an Aman Club with an Aman Spa & Wellness Centre, multiple dining and socialising areas and branded residences. 


This is the 36th Aman property to open, a collection that was founded in 1988 with the launch of flagship property, Amanpuri, also in Thailand. The group has worked closely with the Nai Lert family on this new property.


The hotel’s 52 suites are located on the 11th to 18th floors and are among the largest in Bangkok. Floor-to-ceiling windows afford glamorous views over the city and park. The Aman Suite covers an entire floor with three bedrooms, balcony and terrace, dining room, kitchen, living area, private spa and entertainment room.


The ninth floor is home to the lobby, 1872 lounge bar, signature Italian restaurant Arva, infinity pool and poolside bar The Pool. On the 19th floor is the exclusive Aman Lounge and two more restaurants. Meanwhile, the extensive spa covers two floors and includes a medical clinic.



Garrya Mu Cang Chai, Vietnam

Garrya Mu Cang Chai is located 300km north of Hanoi


Banyan Group has opened a mountain resort in northern Vietnam. Garrya Mu Cang Chai is located in the stunning region of Yen Bai province - think majestic mountains and emerald green rice terraces. Mu Cang Chai is a national heritage site around 300km north of Hanoi.


This is the first international resort to open in the region. It covers six-and-a-half hectares of lush greenery and offers a mix of rooms, suites and villas with views over the terraces and mountains. Nearby are bamboo forests and ethnic villages.


Billed as a destination for relaxation and reflection, the resort offers 8ELEMENTS Spa, a ‘relaxation cocoon’ that emphasises the interconnectivity of mind, body and soul. Dubai welcomes yet another luxury destination with the opening of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab this month.


The property marks the completion of Jumeirah’s nautical trilogy, made up of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, the wave-shaped Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the sail-shaped Jumeirah Burj Al Arab.


The new property is designed by acclaimed architect Shaun Killa and features an avant-garde, superyacht-inspired design. The luxe interiors feature marble clad surfaces, organic wood, handcrafted silk carpets, hand-blown crystal lights and textured fabrics. 


Accommodation features serviced residences, rooms and suites. High-end facilities run to an 82-birth superyacht marina, a spa, fine dining options, four outdoor swimming pools and one indoor pool.



The Westin Nirup Island Resort & Spa, Indonesia

Idyllic Nirup Island is just a few miles from Sentosa Island in Singapore


Just 15 minutes from Singapore, compact Nirup Island is set to welcome an international resort to its shores. The Westin Nirup Island is slated to open later this spring. Nirup is a private island and part of the Riau group of islands in Indonesia that lie just a few miles off the coast of Singapore.


The 146-key resort will offer rooms and suites, and villas in one, two and three-bedroom configurations. 

Dining options include an all-day restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a cafe and bakery and a pool bar. 

Further facilities feature two pool areas, a fitness centre and a Heavenly Spa by Westin. For families, there's a kids club, and teens will enjoy the water activity centre. 


Nirup Island can be accessed via a 15-minute ferry ride from Sentosa in Singapore or a 45-minute journey from Batam Island. On-site customs and immigration facilities ensure a seamless and stress-free arrivals process with yachts able to dock at the resort’s private marina.


This will be the fifth Westin property to open in Indonesia.




Raffles Sentosa Singapore, Singapore

Villas at the tranquil Raffles Sentosa Singapore come with private pools and terraces


One of the most eagerly anticipated hotel openings in the region has finally been announced. Raffles Sentosa Singapore, news of which was originally released back in 2019, is to open on March 1. 


Raffles Sentosa is Singapore’s first all-villa property and the country’s second Raffles hotel. The original property, now at 1 Beach Road in Singapore, was opened in 1887 by Armenian hoteliers the Sarkies Brothers and was named for Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. 


Raffles Sentosa is located atop a hill amidst 1000,000sqm of tropical greenery and with direct access to Tanjong beach. The resort also offers access to award winning local golf courses.


Designed by the Yabu Pushelberg studio, the resort features 62 villas that come in configurations of 210sqm one-bedroom pool villas, right up to the 650sq, four-bedroom Royal Villa. All villas come with a private pool and outdoor terrace.


The property is described as a “haven” of wellbeing, with a spa house in a converted heritage building offering 13 treatment rooms. 


Dining options include five dining spaces as well as private dining. The resort’s signature Empire Grill specialises in Italian cuisine, while Royal China offers Canotense fare. There is Japanese omakase-style dining at Hashida and the famed Raffles afternoon tea will be served in the Raffles Room. The brand’s renowned Singapore Sling will also be available.


The resort is around a 25 minute drive from Singapore airport.

Located on the Red Sea, this five-star Saudi resort offers an indulgent stay at one of the world’s hottest up-and-coming holiday destinations.


Kempinski Hotel & Resort Sariya overlooks the Red Sea at Yanbu, known as the ‘pearl’ of the Red Sea. This is Kempinski’s second property to launch in Saudi Arabia.

Explore India's Pink City from the luxurious Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur


Anantara has unveiled its first property in India. Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur is located centrally to the many cultural attractions of Jaipur, which is known as the 'Pink City'.


The majestic property is set in verdant grounds with a design that channels the classical Rajasthani palace. Arches frame the facade while traditional bay windows, known as ‘jharokhas’, maximise natural light and scenic views.


The 150 rooms and suites overlook an inner courtyard. Rooms are imbued with heritage charm such as rich textiles, intricate glasswork and hand-carved woodwork.  


Hotel restaurants include Sheesh Mahal which occupies a room adorned with mirror mosaics inspired by Rajasthan’s Mirror Palace and Amrit Mahal, a family-friendly all-day dining venue where meals can be taken indoors or out by the pool.
