Thai hospitality group Dusit International has its sights set on the Philippines. The luxury hotel operator has signed a hotel management agreement for a 150-room hotel in Bataan, as well as revealing plans for several further hotel openings in 2026 and beyond.

The Bataan property, ASAI Camaya, is set to open in 2029 and will be a focal part of the 20 million sqm Camaya Coast development currently taking place in Mariveles, Bataan. The project is being led by local developer, Earth & Shore Leisure Communities Corporation.

Camaya Coast is one of the Philippines’ fastest-rising tourist destinations, located a 90-minute ferry ride from Manila. Visitor numbers to Bataan have been increasing year on year, driven by the province’s beautiful beaches, crystal waters and a growing eco-tourism appeal, according to the local tourist office.

“Camaya Coast is one of the most compelling leisure destinations emerging in the Philippines today and we’re delighted to introduce ASAI Hotels to this dynamic setting,” said Gilles Cretallez, chief operating officer at Dusit International. “With visitor arrivals in Bataan showing exceptionally strong growth and with the township set to benefit from expanded infrastructure and improved connectivity, we see tremendous long-term potential for creating memorable guest experiences rooted in community, culture and the natural environment.”

Upcoming regional upgrades will include an airport at Camaya as well as the Camaya Coast development.

ASAI Camaya will offer access to dining and retails spaces, outdoor activity hubs, a water park, an 18-hole golf course and area’s signature white sand beaches. A significant part of the Camaya Coast development will be preserved as natural forest, something that aligns with Dusit’s Tree of Life sustainability framework, enabling the hotel to offer eco-friendly guest activities.

Manuel Carlos Ilagan, president of Earth & Shore, said Camaya Coast was a game-changing development for Bataan. “We’re proud to welcome a hospitality group that shares our passion for creating memorable, community-centred destinations,” he said.

Dusit operates five other properties in the Philippines in Manila, Cebu, Davao and Lubi. The company will be expanding with several new launches planned for 2026 onwards.
