Nobu resort to open in the Maldives - a rendering of the new development
Nobu Hospitality is making waves in the Maldives with a new resort.
Nobu Hotel, Residences and Restaurant Maldives is set to open in Laamu Atoll on the private island of Munyafushi. This will be the brand’s debut venture in the Maldives.
The resort will offer 26 one and two-bedroom beach villas and 30 one and two-bedroom overwater villas. Each space will reflect Nobu’s signature style of clean lines, natural textures and a calming colour palette.
Guests will also have the opportunity to buy their own piece of paradise; ten Nobu Island Estate Residences, each positioned on its own island, will be available. As well as privacy and luxuriously designed accommodation, residences also have access to a private yacht, perfect for exploring the turquoise waters.
Facilities for both residence and resort guests include a Nobu restaurant on its own private island serving chef Nobu’s world-renowned Japanese Peruvian cuisine. There’s also a full-service spa, fitness facilities, a dive centre, tennis courts and a main resort swimming pool.
“The Maldives is a highly sought-after tourist destination that has long been on our radar for a unique resort concept,” said Nobu Hospitality chief executive officer Trevor Horwell. “Our priority is to create a superior island experience rather than follow a formulaic approach - one where design, world-class dining and the natural environment harmoniously exist.”
