Hong Kong has welcomed a pop-up entertainment venue on the Central Harbourfront.
The Grounds at AIA Vitality Park is an entertainment and recreational space purpose-built for events to go-ahead safely during the pandemic.
Throughout the winter season, the area will be hosting a variety of family-focused activities, wellness and fitness sessions and live music, which can be enjoyed in socially distanced private pods enclosed by picket fences.
A busy schedule includes movies, live rugby broadcasts, mini-music festivals and yoga sessions. The Grounds will also be hosting a special edition of Hong Kong’s annual IRIS fitness and wellness festival, ‘IRIS at The Grounds’. This event runs from November 27 to 29 and will feature curated wellness sessions from some of Hong Kong’s top instructors.
While enjoying the entertainment, visitors can order refreshments contact-free from their pod via their mobile phone. Eats are provided by local food hall, BaseHall, and the eclectic menu runs from tacos and burgers to Vietnamese, Korean and Hong Kong dishes, as well as those essential popcorn and ice creams servings during movie screenings.
Cocktails, beers, wine and soft drinks can also be ordered from your pod. Wines are provided by event partner Penfolds Max with seven signature red and white wines showcasing the grape varieties of South Australia.
Throw in a high-tech stage, enormous LED screen and state-of-the-art sound system and you’re all set for a fun, and socially-distanced, entertainment experience.
The events programme is updated weekly and tickets are available online. Pods are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis in two- or four-person options.
The Grounds is equipped with RAZE self-sanitising technology and all visitors must fill-out a health and travel declaration when buying tickets. Temperature checking and hand sanitisation will be carried out at entry and exit points and visitors must wear a mask when moving through the venue. Pods are cleaned thoroughly between sessions.
