Cathay Pacific willl start flying to Adelaide this November
Cathay Pacific is adding a three-times-a-week service to Adelaide to its itinerary.
The South Australia capital city will be Cathay’s eighth passenger destination in the Southwest Pacific; the airline also operates year-round services between Hong Kong and Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The service to Adelaide will operate on a seasonal basis, with flights taking off from November 11 and running throughout the Australian summer until the end of March. Cathay also runs seasonal flights to Cairns and Christchurch.
Lavinia Lau, Cathay’s chief customer and commercial officer, said that Adelaine holds a particular significance for the airline. “We launched passenger flights to the South Australian capital in 1992, and then two years later our first batch of cadet pilots arrived in the city to complete their flight training, marking the start of our more than three-decade collaboration with Flight Training Adelaide.”
The Hong Kong to Adelaide route will be operated using Airbus A350-900 aircraft, with business, premium economy and economy cabins. Flights will operate from Hong Kong to Adelaide on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, taking off at 11.30pm from Hong Kong and landing at 10.30am in Adelaide. Return flights will operate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, leaving Adelaide at midday and landing at 5.40pm.
