The Thai island of Koh Mook.
A new hospitality collection, Explorar Hotels & Resorts, will be launching its début property in Koh Mook, Thailand, this autumn.
Explorar Pawapi Koh Mook will open its doors in October as a boutique hotel on an unspoilt stretch of private beach.
Its 24 bungalows and villas will be set on the white sand beach and complemented by an open-air restaurant serving the best of Thai cuisine.
The hotel spa, Spa Sala, will have treatment areas dotted around the property, enabling guests to enjoy a traditional treatment listening to the ocean lapping the beach or watching the palm trees sway in the breeze.
The island of Koh Mook is located between Trang and Krabi on Thailand’s southwest coast and is famous for its Emerald Cave, which can only be accessed by swimming in to reach its secret beach. Further back-to-nature adventures on the island include scuba trips to some of the clearest waters in the country and ‘dugong observation’ excursions.
Explorar hotels aim to connect visitors with their destination by word of mouth at The Exchange, a social space which will replace the traditional lobby. Guests are encouraged to share travel tales to enhance their stay and interact with the knowledgeable hotel ‘crew’.
Explorar is owned by luxury hospitality group The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts and is aiming to launch further properties throughout Asia and Europe, with both urban and resort locations under four banners; Beach, Eco, Cultural and Urban.
