First look at Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca
As Europe moves into summer and thoughts turn to warm Mediterranean holidays, Mandarin Oriental has opened on the Spanish holiday island of Mallorca. Mandarin Punta Negra, Mallorca launched earlier this month on the southwest coast in Calvià and close to the exclusive Puerto Portals marina.
This is Mandarin’s third Spanish property, following Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona and Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid. The Balleairic hotel is situated on the site of the historic Hotel Punta Negra, surrounded by pine trees and with sweeping views of the Mediterranean. Arrival by private yacht from the island’s airport is available.
The new property has 131 rooms and suites, including a Family Premier Suite for up to four guests with 180 degree sea views and a private rooftop pool.
Six restaurants include a Mexican restaurant, a steakhouse with open-fire cooking, a space featuring Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine, a Japanese-influenced spot with sushi counter, an oceanside tapas terrace and an alfresco poolside dining area.
There are two outdoor pools overlooking Punta Negra, a fitness centre (with both classes and personal trainer options) and a signature wellness sanctuary. Tennis and padel courts are walking distance from the hotel.
Mandarin Oriental Punta Negra, Mallorca is now offering a Be the First to Stay package to celebrate its launch. The package costs from EUR1,500 per night for two people (minimum two nights) and includes a welcome cocktail, a locally-inspired gift, daily breakfast and a daily credit towards a dining experience or spa treatment; mandarinoriental.com.
