Grand Hyatt Singapore this week announced the completion of its multi-year redevelopment.
The 54-year-old property has been redesigned as a luxury wellness haven and nature-inspired retreat, reflecting Singapore’s ‘garden city’ goals.
The phased reopening saw the Terrace Wing launch last summer and this month sees the debut of the refreshed Grand Wing and Grand Club.
“As one of the first international hotels in Singapore, we have welcomed generations of guests and catered to their changing preferences over five decades,” said Grand Hyatt Singapore general manager Edouard Demptos. “Today, we embark on an exciting new chapter, deepening our commitment to sustainability, wellbeing and immersive guest experiences, while continuing to deliver the warm, intuitive service and care that has defined us for decades.”

The Grand Wing is designed by Tokyo-based studio, Strickland, and offers a ‘refined urban experience infused with the vibrancy of Singapore’. All 407 rooms feature open-plan spaces with walnut flooring, Peranakan-inspired accents and Patagonia stone in the bathrooms. Clever design includes a sofa nook and dining table.
Strickland has also designed the hotel’s reception, with a central sculpture, carved louvers that echo Peranakan motifs and ceiling fans made from local wood.
The Grand Club lounge has been relocated to the mezzanine level of the Grand Wing and redesigned with warm tones, tactile materials and local motifs. Services include breakfast, all-day refreshments and an evening cocktail hour.

Meanwhile, the Terrace Wing draws on the Japanese concept of shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, and features interconnected garden zones planted with butterfly-attracting pollinators, koi ponds and tropical greenery. Curated sculpture trails and play elements invite families to explore the area and elevated lawns host yoga, bootcamps and wellness programmes.
Damai, the hotel’s Wellness Hub, includes therapeutic spa treatments alongside new-age facilities like the halo steam room, hydro pool, dual therapy sauna and wellness pool. Fitness and wellness membership is available which includes access to the outdoor movement lawn, thermal-hydro experiences, gym and unlimited group classes.
Green credentials include 100% renewable energy and a closed-loop food waste-to-farm aquaponics system. The hotel also has its own water bottling plant, eliminating the need for plastic water bottles. More than 80% of the vegetables used in the kitchens are sourced from the Cameron Highlands and local farms and around a third of the herbs used are harvested from the hotel’s rooftop gardens.
To celebrate the reopening, Grand Hyatt Singapore is hosting wellness retreats and offering enhanced World of Hyatt rewards from July 18 to September 14. Head online for more information.
