The Hari Hong Kong straddles the districts of Causeway Bay and Wan Chai.
Hong Kong’s hotly anticipated new hotel, The Hari Hong Kong, will be opening its doors this month.
Despite the global pandemic, The Hari is on track for a December 12 and is offering Hong Kongers a special staycation deal to celebrate.
Straddling the districts of Causeway Bay and Wan Chai, the hotel boasts more than 200 keys, including three rooftop suites, as well as two dining spaces.
The Hari brand is the brainchild of Dr Aron Harilela of the city’s renowned five-generation Harilela dynasty. Dr Harilela is the son of the late Hong Kong Indian businessman, hotelier and philanthropist Hari Harilela, who founded the Harilela Group in 1959. This will be the second Hari property to open worldwide, following the launch of The Hari London in 2009.
“We’re pleased to bring our very own brand, The Hari, from London to Hong Kong,” he told Asia Family Traveller. “This is our home and I remain incredibly optimistic about its future. I see The Hari Hong Kong as a beacon for the city, and my hope is that its opening sends a clear and strong message of our confidence in what lies ahead.”
The property has been designed by Tara Bernerd, founder of the London-based international interior architecture and design practice, Tara Bernerd & Partners.
Bernerd and Harilela drew on local Hong Kong culture and history when planning the design.
“We aimed to create a hotel that felt as though you were walking into the most elegant of Hong Kong homes when you arrived,” said Bernerd. “We sought to contrast the commercial heritage of the neighbourhood with a modern, forward-looking attitude.”
Dining spaces include the Italian-influenced Lucciola Restaurant & Bar and Zoku Restaurant & Terrace, which specialises in Japanese cuisine.
“We’re very excited to join the ranks of Hong Kong’s luxury hotel brands and very much look forward to welcoming our first guests in December,” said general manager Rory Slater.
The Hari Hong Kong is located at 330 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai. 'The Welcome to The Hari Package’ costs from HK$1,450 per night and includes a HK$700 food & beverage credit per stay and late check-out until 3pm. The offer is valid until 31 March 2021.
