Elephant Grounds is serving pastries and coffee in Singapore

Elephant Grounds, one of Hong Kong’s most popular coffee and dining spots, is opening in Singapore. Leading Nation Hospitality Group has also announced the launch of a venue in Jakarta as part of an expansion of the Elephant Grounds brand.

Elephant Grounds opened in Hong Kong in 2013 as a neighbourhood kiosk in Sheung Wan, fusing specialty coffee with a ‘coffee ‘n’ chill’ ethos. The brand has now expanded to eight venues across the city, serving coffee using in-house roasted beans, Japanese-inspired menus and pastries.

The Singapore outpost has opened in the Guoco Midtown network hub on Beach Road, with bright, nature-inspired spaces and a full all-day dining programme featuring its signature ice cream and fresh pastries baked on-site.

Elephant Grounds Jakarta is slated to open at the end of February, with a bar and padel court. It’s worth noting that East Java has long supplied the brand with beans.

“The opening of Elephant Grounds in Singapore and Jakarta marks a pivotal step into new markets as we expand our ambitions beyond Hong Kong to become a regional hospitality company,” said co-founder Gerald Li. “In 2026, we will continue to scale our original concepts in regional markets while remaining focused on what we do best - guest experience and innovative concepts.”

Leading Nation Hospitality Group is behind concepts including The Diplomat, Wagyumafia and Forty-Five in Landmark in Hong Kong and has most recently collaborated with Michelin-starred chef Vicky Lau on JIJA at the city’s recently opened Kimpton Hong Kong hotel.
