The Henderson - the Zaha Hadid Architects-designed building replicates a budding Bauhinia flower
The high rise building has been a long time in construction, but Hong Kong’s latest skyscraper, The Henderson, is now ready to debut three dining and bar concepts.
Located on Murray Road in Hong Kong’s Central district, the striking office tower is designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and has already scooped multiple awards for its green credentials and innovative design. The building reinterprets the layered look of a Bauhinia flower - the symbol of Hong Kong - ready to blossom.

The Henderson - Akira Back on level five will be serving Korean cuisine with an American twist
Late last year The Henderson debuted Cloud 39, Hong Kong’s highest all-glass rooftop ballroom. It has now been revealed that dining space Akira Back, on the fifth floor, and Summit 38, an events and dining space on level 38, are set to open shortly.
Akira Back, helmed by the eponymous chef Akira Back, is slated to open later this month. Back sits atop a global empire spanning 27 locations, specialising in a blend of Korean heritage dishes with western influences. At Akira Back Hong Kong, this will translate as Japanese-Korean cuisine with American flair. The restaurant’s stunning interiors have been created by local design studio, AB Concept, and feature artwork by Back’s mother, Young Hee Back.

The Henderson - Japanese-influenced Hana no Kumo is hosted by Summit 38 on level 38
In October, Peridot and Hana no Kumo will be unveiled at Summit 38, a sky-high lifestyle and dining destination. Featuring event spaces named after the world’s most famous mountain peaks, Summit 38 will also be home to the two dining concepts. Peridot will feature terroir-driven cocktails, plant-based fine dining and live entertainment. And Hana no Kumo celebrates Japanese Kappou cuisine, helmed by executive chef Ogawa Masaru. Complementing the dishes will be a selection of sake, featuring Japan’s finest regional brews, award-winning vintages and innovative flavours.
