Christmas Winter Wonderland at Discovery Bay - enjoy live perfomances and sparkling decorations
Discovery Bay is getting ready to transform itself into an Italian-inspired winter wonderland complete with a 20m castle, festive decorations and live performances.
The Rome-inspired installation is located at DB North Plaza, while DB Plaza hosts a sparkling glasshouse.
A Christmas Lighting Ceremony and Parade will kick-off the event on Friday November 21 at DB North Plaza, with a live performance from singer-actor Jeffrey Ngai.
Discovery Bay’s Sunday Markets will run right through November and into December at DB Plaza, opening at 11am and running through to 6pm on November 9, November 23 and December 14.
The DB Christmas Wonderland Christmas Market will take place on Thursday December 25 to Sunday December 28 between 12 and 8pm at DB Plaza Open Piazza, with plenty of shopping opportunities and yummy treats, as well as entertainment from SDM Jazz & Ballet Academie on December 26 and Jumpy’s rope-skipping on December 28.
And there are Santa meet-and-greet opportunities on December 25 and 26 at DB Plaza and DB North Plaza.
What’s more, 8,000 free ferry rides are up for grabs from Central Ferry Piers to Discovery Bay on weekends, public holidays and Christmas Eve. The free sailings leave at 11.30am from Central Pier 3 and on Sundays and public holidays, the free ride will also call at DB North Plaza. Passengers simply need to swipe their Octopus as normal to take advantage of the free service (note that the free journey is one-way only and managed on a first-come, first-served basis).
