Luxury hospitality brand Kimpton is set to debut in Indonesia with the launch of Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud later this year.
The new resort is located in Bali’s cultural heart on the Wos River at Jalan Bisma and close to Ubud Art Market and Ubud Palace and Water Palace. Guests staying at the sumptuous property will be able to select from guest rooms, pool suites and signature private pool villas.
Five dining destinations include Imamura Ubud, an intimate omakase led by Michelin-starred chef Hirofumi Imamura, who will also oversee Shaku by Imamura, a playful interpretation of Japanese izakaya dining.
Lifestyle and wellness programming at the resort is based around a two-storey fitness studio and dedicated recovery facilities. Spa devotees will be able to enjoy soothing, restorative rituals that draw on Balinese healing traditions at the resort’s Sakshi Spa.
Designed by Australian architect Denton Corker Marshall, Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud design reflects the contours of Ubud’s hillside and riverside landscape.
Austin Jones, general manager of Kimpton Suntaya Bali Ubud, has previous experience across multiple Kimpton properties and will be leading the debut of Kimpton in Indonesia.
“It’s an honour to introduce Kimpton to Indonesia in a place as culturally rich and creatively alive as Ubud,” he said. “Kimpton Suntaya is designed to feel open, soulful and connected, not just to the landscape, but to the people who live and travel here. We want this hotel to become a vibrant gathering place where guests and locals alike can experience Bali in a way that feels effortless, personal, and unscripted.”
Kimpton was founded in 1981 with the brand making its debut in Asia with the opening of Kimpton Da’An in Taipei. It has now expanded to include properties in Bangkok, Koh Samui, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
