To the rescue is independent airport lounge network, Plaza Premium, which is putting the merry into Christmas travel with a ‘Lounge, Travel, Celebrate’ campaign.
The Plaza Premium network of lounges will be more accessible than ever this winter, with new locations, expanded partnerships with credit card providers and special lounge pass offers.
Enter a participating Plaza Premium lounge (Hong Kong is one of them) and enjoy Christmas tunes, spirit-lifting decorations and a well-received Plaza Premium Lounge Happy Hour with festive canapés and drinks (offer runs from December 17 to 24). Upgrade to the ‘Toast to Travelling Again’ package and enjoy a bottle of bubbles - ten percent of each package purchased will be donated to a local charity.
Craft for kids and Christmas canapés are available in many lounges.
Youngsters can enjoy free admission and Christmas arts and crafts fun; from December 13 to January 1, 2022, American Express cardholders will be able to take advantage of complimentary admission for children in selected lounges, including affiliated partner lounges with Virgin Atlantic, Air France and Avianca Airlines.
And students, possibly one of the largest travelling cohorts these holidays, haven’t been forgotten, either. Plaza Premium has introduced a Student Pass Promotion with half-price lounge entry. Details online.
Plaza Premium will also be lending a helping hand to local charity partners. Lounge guests will be invited to ‘Make A Wish Upon A Tree’ by donating to the lounge’s selected charity and with each donation, guests can write a new year wish on a decoration and hang it on the Christmas tree. In Hong Kong, Plaza Premium Lounge will be donating to the Heep Hong Society, which helps with the rehabilitation and education of children with different abilities.
Despite the pandemic, this year Plaza Premium Group expanded to more than 250 locations in 30 countries and 70 airports around the world. In total, 47 locations were added to its network, including 24 airport lounges, two Aerotel hotels, two dining outlets and Meet & Assist passenger services in six airports.

This year Plaza Premium Lounge at London Heathrow’s T2 won World’s Best Independent Airport Lounge for the fifth consecutive year at the Skytrax World Airline Awards and Hong Kong’s Plaza Premium Lounge and American Express’ Centurion Lounge, also operated by Plaza Premium, were placed in the top ten.
