Qatar Airways launches student loyalty programme

Qatar Airways is launching a global student loyalty programme. Student Club is powered by the airline’s loyalty programme, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and will offer a range of benefits specifically tailored for young adults in education.

Benefits will include special discounted fares on flights, extra baggage allowances, date-change flexibility, complimentary ‘Super Wifi’ on board, tier upgrades and a graduation gift. They will also be automatically enrolled into the Qatar Airways Privilege Club.

As members of the Privilege Club, students will earn Qmiles when travelling with Qatar, oneworld airlines or any of the carrier’s partners. Students can also earn Qmiles by using the Qatar Airways credit cards when shopping with Privilege Club retail and lifestyle partners. And if they refer a friend to the programme, they will earn an additional 5,000 Qmiles.

The club is part of a wider move by Qatar to reward passengers for continued loyalty with the airline.

“Our brand new Student Club is designed specifically with students’ needs in mind,” said Qatar Airways boss, Akbar Al Baker. “Travel is an important part of their life, with many choosing to study abroad… We also know that the long university vacations are a wonderful opportunity for students to visit family or friends or simply to explore the world.”

Student Club members will receive a digital card which can be stored in their mobile wallet or Qatar Airways mobile app. All students in full- and part-time education aged between 18 and 30 years are eligible to join the programme. More details can be found online.
