The Weez Walk takes in Hong Kong Island's 60km Coastal Trail
Take part in a 60km charity coastal walk around Hong Kong Island in the new year and support youth mental health in the territory.
The annual Weez Walk is back and is again hoping to raise funds for mental health and suicide prevention in Hong Kong. The charity walk, which takes place between January and Febuary next year (perfectly timed for working off the Christmas excess), is a collaboration between the Weez Project and KELY Support Group.
The Weez Project is dedicated to raising awareness about youth mental health and preventing youth suicide in Hong Kong. It was founded by Tony Bruno in memory of his son, Jamie. KELY Support Group is a non-profit organisation that works with Hong Kong schools to support young people.
Since its inception in 2021, the Weez Walk has raised more than HK$6 million. The 60km challenge can be completed within 24 hours or entrants can opt for a more flexible, six-stage option. However, it must be wrapped up between January 18 and February 23, 2025. It's described as a walk, but the event is open to trail runners, hikers, families, individuals and corporate teams.Â
Last year’s event welcomed more than 800 participants and raised HK$2.2 million. Since its inception, Week Walk has delivered hundreds of hours of support for young people with mental health referrals, consultations and other help.Â
Registrations for the 2025 walk are now open, with early bird registration open until November 30, click here to sign-up.
