International hotel group Dusit has taken over the management of Tantawan Tented Camp in northern Thailand. The Chiang Rai-based “refined retreat” offers ten spacious safari-style tents; configurations include one-bed suites and two-bedroom family options. All tents feature private bathrooms, handcrafted teak furniture and sweeping valley views. Guests can take part in a curated programme of experiences, including trekking, cooking classes, tree-planting and meditation sessions. Facilities include a pool with mountain views and an outdoor ampitheatre for movie nights under the stars and bonfire evenings. Guests can try their hand at archery, visit nearby hill tribes or enjoy a ‘forest and field picnic’. The property collaborates with the local Sunflower Organic Farm, a residential home and non-profit project providing education, safe shelter and emotional support to ethnic minority hill tribe girls at risk from trafficking; the farm also supplies the camp with fresh produce. Tantawan Tented Camp is around 40 minutes from the international airport at Chiang Rai.

This is the JW Marriott brand’s debut in Cam Ranh, an popular holiday destination on Vietnam's central coast. This 203-room and villa beachfront resort is located on beautiful Bai Dai beach. The resort’s design and colour palette is influenced by the ancient Champa Kingdom, of which Cam Ranh was a strategic trade and military base. This family-friendly property offers a Kids' Club for youngsters under 12 years, with The Tree House as a central play hub. Older children from 13 years and up can chill at the Teens Club. There are two main pools, as well as two children’s pools at the kids’ club and a lazy river which runs through the resort. Further facilities run to seven dining spaces and a Spa by JW. The resort is served by the international airport at Cam Ranh with a recently launched direct service to Hong Kong.

This freshly launched ‘micro hotel’ is located in the city’s lively Sheung Wan district and just a two-minute stroll from Sheung Wan MTR station. Touting itself as “cleverly compact and efficient”, the hotel offers 274 rooms including flexible connecting room options for families with bunk beds, flex beds that store into the wall and the option to link up to four connecting rooms. Facilities at the property include co-working zones, a gym, self-service laundry and vending machines. Motto by Hilton Hong Kong SoHo has three dining and social venues, including The Nams with a “bold take” on Chinese cuisine. A second dining space, Club 38, boasts views of Victoria Harbour and 24-hour dining. The menu highlights Mediterranean-style light bites, premium steaks and fusion dishes. Ingredients are locally sourced with the use of hydroponically-grown vegetables. Meanwhile, drinks lounge Lobby Bar 38 specialises in champagnes and wines from France’s Burgundy and Bordeaux regions.

Mama Shelter has launched in the Lion City with a hotel in the Orchard Road neighbourhood. Mama Shelter is a global brand co-founded by Serge Trigano, of the Trigano family who founded Club Med. The brand has properties in France, Italy, Paris, Switzerland and Dubai. Positioned somewhere between luxury and budget accommodation, Mama Shelter offers a family-friendly welcome in city centre locations. Mama Shelter Singapore promises a lively stay with arcade games, board games, DJ booth, rooftop cocktails, pop-ups and family brunches. There’s a ground floor Mama Restaurant and Island Bar serving all-day brasserie-style dishes and on Sundays the Mama’s signature brunch features a smorgasbord of salads, pastas, roast meats and homemade puddings. Meanwhile, the rooftop hosts two pools, a DJ stage and Mama Rooftop Bar & Restaurant. The hotel’s 115 rooms come with soundproofing, large screens with films on demand and Mama Shelter Singapore is debuting the brand’s first bunk bedroom.

The resort offers no fewer than four swimming pools including a beachfront family pool. There’s also a dedicated children’s pool and a kids’ club. Two restaurants serve local and international dishes and two bars mix refreshing drinks or sunset cocktails. There’s also a spa and a fully equipped fitness centre. This property is scheduled to open in mid-October.
