Got basketball enthusiasts in the family? Head out into the open air for Hong Kong’s first-ever sky garden NBA live viewing party. Celebrating the NBA China Games 2026 clash between the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets, MegaBox is turning its 30,000-square-foot Mega Sky rooftop on Level 18 into an outdoor fan arena. Watch the games live on a giant outdoor LED screen against panoramic 270-degree skyline views of Victoria Harbour and Kai Tak Sports Park. Don't miss:

What's on in October - look up at Langham Place
Ignite some cosmic wonder in the kids and look up next time you’re in Mong Kok. Langham Place and Project 31 have brought British artist Luke Jerram’s acclaimed touring installation, Mars, to Hong Kong for its city premiere. Suspended high above the Level 4 Atrium, the glowing, seven-metre sphere uses ultra-high-resolution NASA imagery to recreate Martian craters, valleys and terrain in striking detail, set to a cinematic surround soundscape by award-winning composer Dan Jones. Jerram’s artistic reminder is grounded and resonant: Mars is a barren landscape, and there is no Planet B - a gentle, inspiring lesson on cherishing our Earth. Don’t miss:
The Coffee Festival: Beneath the red planet, the Trick or Beans Zero-Gravity Coffee Festival pops up across three weekends (Oct 17 to 19, Oct 24 to 25; Oct 21 to Nov 1) with 14 local food and coffee spots and guest baristas.

What's on in October - an event to light up the night
Be dazzled as Macao’s night sky is set alight by the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest this autumn. This spectacular light and sound show takes place in September and October and on China’s National Day on October 1 (a public holiday in Macao and Hong Kong). More than 100 pyrotechnic teams from across China, Asia, Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, Canada, and Africa have participated at this international event over the years. Photo contest: The Macao Government Tourism Office will also host a photo contest and student drawing contest, adding even more colour to the festivities, details at fireworks.macaotourism.gov.mo.

SJM Macao Open - October 15 & 18

What's on in October - teeing off later this month
The popular golf tournament will be returning to Macau Golf & Country Club this autumn. The much anticipated annual event features international golf stars as well as Asian Tour champions and local amateurs. The four-day event is hosted by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and SJM Resorts and is co-sanctioned with the Macau Golf Association. Originally launched in 1998, the event includes notable past winners like Lee Westwood, Colin Montgomerie and Min Woo Lee. Don't miss:

Oktoberfest at MGM 2026 - October 28 to November 8

What's on in October - Bavarian bants at MGM Cotai
This signature Cotai event is now in its 16th year and returns this October and November bigger and better than ever, with live performances, family games, great German beer, plenty of food and live music. Throughout the 12-day festival, the first floor, Roof Terrace destination at MGM Cotai will be transformed into a Bavarian-inspired festival marquee; tuck into hearty German favourites paired with Paulaner beers. What's on in October - Meet giant, moving cat 'Dream Friend' in the Pearl Lobby
Art shouldn’t be hushed behind velvet ropes; the best pieces invite children and parents alike to pause and connect. Galaxy Macau has embraced this spirit by teaming up with contemporary Chinese sculptor Gao Xiaowu for his solo exhibition, Dream Voyage @ Galaxy Resort: Gao Xiaowu's Art Exhibition. Galaxy has also partnered with the Macau Artist Society and six emerging local artists to craft miniature interpretations of Gao’s signature ‘Future Dreams’ angels; drop into the Colour Your Angel Workshop, where little hands can paint their own mini angel figurine to bring home as a keepsake.
