Stanley Plaza is celebrating its tenth anniversary event this year with a ‘Merry Gingermas’. This year’s theme highlights ginger, a spice that represents bravery in Cantonese. A variety of Merry Gingermas activities will be taking place over the ten days, including a ginger-themed art gallery and ginger-inspired food.
There will be more than 100 booths this year, scattered over Stanley Plaza and Murray House, selling crafts, handmade gifts, festive food and ginger-themed treats. The popular Hugo’s Cheese will be making a return, as well as German treats from Biergarten and locally made gelato from The Nutter Company. New exhibitors include Michelin-recommended Fisholi and local specialities like Be Water Popcorn and Curry Boy. In all there will be nearly 30 food and drink brands to enjoy.
Murray House will be hosting The Ginger Gallery, featuring emerging Hong Kong artists with their ginger-inspired artworks. All art is available to buy with proceeds going to the Food Angel Foundation.
Daily live performances include carolling and busking will liven up the event and Santa Claus will be making an appearance on December 20, 21, 25 and 26.
A free shuttle bus is available every 30 minutes between Admiralty and Stanley Plaza. Alternatively, car parking can be reserved in advance from $28 per hour plus $5 administration fee. See Klook online for ticketing details.
