Hilton has launched its first Canopy property in Asia Pacific. It's on the Japanese sunshine island of Miyako in Okinawa prefecture. The 306-key resort features 11 different room types, from rooms and deluxe rooms with private balconies up to suites with separate living and bedrooms. Families are welcomed with Shima Sprouts Family Zone, a children’s club with play equipment and games for kids and grown ups. Dining options include grill restaurant Chiikii, Ma-Sans Beach House for buffet breakfasts and Japanese tapas later in the day, and the rooftop Sunbear Day Club with music and cocktails. Soon-to-open is The Round, an outdoor activity lawn with seating for BBQs and parties. The resort is around 15 minutes from Miyako Shimojishima Airport.

The Wildwood Camper Family Themed Suite recreates the tropical splendour of Xinshuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, with separate rooms for parents and children. Littlies will love the bunk bed with a slide, the themed toy boxes and rainforest murals. In the Questers Family Room there are fun learn-through-play activities and locally-inspired story books. The hotel’s dining spots draw heavily on Yunnan produce; there are plenty of tea-tasting opportunities and the bar team pours wines created from meltwater in the Meili Snow Mountains. The Chinese restaurant, Dian Voyage Yunnan Cuisine, is helmed by Michelon-recognised chefs. More facilities include an indoor pool and a fitness centre.

Reservations are now open for Chatrium Phuket Rawai ahead of its launch this summer. This is Chatrium Hospitality's first property in Phuket and is located on Rawai Beach on the island's south coast. There are rooms, suites and pool villas with the interior design drawing on the maritime heritage of Rawai's Chao Lay community, with textures and details designed to feel relaxed, refined and grounded. For families, there are splash pools, water slides and a dedicated Kalui kids' club. With children occupied, parents can enjoy the Nemita spa or relac on the expansive pool deck. Rawai has long been regarded as one of Phuket's more peaceful corners; longtail boats depart the bay for neighbouring islands and Promthep Cape, Nai Han beach adn Ya Nui Beach are all within easy reach. The resort is around 90 minutes from the Phuket's airport.

This hotel is set to be one of the largest upcoming openings in the Malaysian capital. The 766-key property features room configurations that start with the deluxe room and extend to club rooms, junior suites, executive suites and premier suites. Facilities run to a 25m outdoor pool for adults and a kids’ pool with water buckets, sprinklers and slides. There is also a dedicated toddler pool. The hotel also offers a kids’ club with a play area and activity zones. For adults, there’s a 24-hour fitness centre and a full-service spa. Dining will play a central role at the hotel, with seven food and beverage venues across the property. They include an all-day dining coffee house, Chinese and Indian restaurants and a patisserie. There will also be a Cigar Bar and a poolside eating venue. Babysitting services are available on request. At this stage an opening date has yet to be released, but the property is slated to open at some point this year.

Villa management company Elite Havens Asia has announced it will be launching a 31-villa contemporary Balinese estate in Seminyak in the second half of the year. Akkulla is set to be one of the island’s most exciting new openings of 2026. Located minutes from the beach, it will offer the privacy of a villa holiday alongside boutique hotel services. The landscaped estate caters to families and multi-generational groups as well as long-stay travellers. Communal spaces include Rasa Galleria, a multi-level hub for food and wellness featuring an all-day dining restaurant, a restaurant with a children’s playground and a wellness centre.
