Hong Kong has pulled out all the stops for a show-stopping Christmas display this year. We've rounded up the must-see highligts for a cool yule

Where to see Hong Kong's sparkliest Christmas decorations - Statue Square is lit-up by a 20m tree this year
The Christmas sparkle is back in Hong Kong’s Statue Square with the launch of Christmas Town, featuring a 20m Christmas tree (the impressive equivalent of a six-storey building) as well as dozens of smaller trees decked in shining gold, red and copper ornaments. This year’s Statue Square theme is toytown - look out for toy-themed decorations including model planes, jeeps, trains and an airship. A miniature train loops the venue every 20 minutes, complete with a merry “toot-toot” of its horn and steam effects. The venue will also be hosting live carol performances and appearances by Santa Claus throughout the festive season, as well as hosting a Christmas market (opens November 28) with 12 chalets offering food, gifts and workshops.
Elsewhere in the city, Chater Road is transformed into Starlight Boulevard, with more than 30 sparkling trees lining the road and pedestrian footbridges. A Christmas tree light installation welcomes visitors to the Chater House entrance, the golden canopy of light guiding them to ‘Noëlia at Landmark’ inside the Landmark Atrium. Noëlia is a mythical winter village, at the heart of which is a 12m Wishing Lake; visitors are invited to toss an enchanted coin into the sparkling waters and make a wish. The installation is dominated by an 11m lighthouse and there are plenty of interactive elements such as a 'Starlit Slide' that travels through the winter village of Noëlia and a festive photo studio. The installation runs until January 1.

Over the water in Tsim Sha Tsui, Harbour City has teamed up with Hong Kong Disneyland to present Magical Christmas at Harbour City. The display runs until January 4 and features a nine-metre ‘Magical Christmas Tree’, a ‘Friendtastic’ parade-themed installation inspired by the Mickey and Friends Disneyland float, a ‘World of Frozen’ themed installation and a ‘Duffy and Friends Christmas House’ zone. Disney characters will be making special appearances via interactive video clips to deliver seasonal greetings. The collaboration is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland.

In town, Pacific Place and Starstreet Precinct are bedecked with Christmas decorations and a giant train. This year’s theme, Ticket to Christmas, sees the level one Garden Court transformed into Christmas Grand Central, ready to whisk youngsters on a festive journey. Step inside the train and enjoy a whistle-stop trip to Paris with Bernie Bear the stationmaster leading the way. Elsewhere in the mall there are festive workshops (bookings required), a ‘Wonderbox’ souvenir shop and the Santa Express where children can meet the big man himself and have a picture taken (again, bookings required). The mall will also be hosting live entertainment throughout the Christmas period, from musical theatre to surprise flash mobs. The celebrations close on January 2.

West Kowloon Art Park will be hosting a giant inflatable playground, the Merry Balloon Park, from December 6 until January 4. Head over to enjoy a seven metre inflatable Christmas tree and other attractions. The Merry Balloon Parade will take to the skies over Victoria Harbour on December 28 featuring 20 giant floating balloons. And don’t forget, West Kowloon Art Park is now linked by ferry with Central Ferry Piers.

Ngong Ping 360 on Lantau is transforming into the Ngong Ping Winter Wonderland until January 1, with a three-metre cable car-shaped claw machine filled with Christmas surprises. Complete the Ngong Ping Winter Wonderland Mission and redeem a token to try your luck at the claw machine. The venue will also be debuting the round-trip cable car offer for children with a return ride costing $30 during the event period. Riders can enjoy any cabin at this special price, including Crystal+ Cabins. Round-trip cable car tickets include a complimentary Ngong Ping Winter Wonderland Mission Guide. After dark, glowing cabins and festive trees light the way as visitors swing back down to Tung Chung.
Hong Kong Disneyland is marking its 20th anniversary this year and will be hosting a Christmas celebration at World of Frozen. Guests can dance with Anna and Elsa as snow falls in the wintry kingdom. And the ‘Disney Christmas Live in Concert!’ will feature local singers performing Disney songs. This event will be held on three consecutive weekends from November 23. The park’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony, ‘A Holiday Wish-Come-True’ runs until January 4 and features a Frozen-themed drone show and the lighting of the park’s Christmas tree with a cascade of snowdrops.

Where to see Hong Kong's sparkliest Christmas decorations - Tai Kwun will host a spectacular tree and circus acts
The Hong Kong Jockey Club and heritage and arts landmark, Tai Kwun, are partnering to host HKJC x Tai Kwun - Simple Gifts of Joy 2025. Opening on December 1, the Tai Kwun venue will be transformed into a giant advent calendar with a 12m tree and soft lighting to create a magical Christmas atmosphere. From December 12, Circus Plays will present an energetic series of contemporary circus performances by local and international troupes.

Where to see Hong Kong's sparkliest Christmas decorations - young performers take to the stage in Discovery Bay
Discovery Bay on Lantau is gearing up for an Italian-inspired Winter Wonderland, complete with a 20m castle, festive decorations and live performances. The Rome-inspired decorations are located at DB North Plaza. Meanwhile, DB Plaza hosts a sparkling glasshouse. The DB Christmas Wonderland Christmas Market will take place from Christmas Day to December 28, from noon to 8pm at DB Plaza Open Piazza, with shopping, food and entertainment from SDM Jazz & Ballet Academie on Boxing Day and Jumpy’s rope-skipping on December 28. There will also be Santa meet-and-greet opportunities on Christmas Day and Boxing Day at DB Plaza and DB North Plaza.
Over in Tsim Sha Tsui, K11 MUSEA will present large scale outdoor installations and a series of Christmas celebrations with a fairytale vibe throughout November and December. K11 Art Mall will also add to the seasonal cheer with a sparkling Christmas tree and themed pop-up stores.

Where to see Hong Kong's sparkliest Christmas decorations - enjoy a sound-and-light show at Lee Tung Avenue
In Wan Chai, Lee Tung Avenue is hosting a Luminous Carnival until January 1. Head over to view an aerial Ferris wheel and an eight metre Christmas tree illuminated with more than 20,000 LED lights. The venue is also ‘making it snow’ every Friday and Saturday evening in the lead up to Christmas and at 5.30pm every day there’s a Luminous Symphony festive light-and-music show.

Times Square is channeling Disney hit Zootopia this year to celebrate the release of Zootopia 2 in cinemas this month. The Zootopia 2: Zoo-tastic Celebration! sees the entire mall transform into the vibrant world of Zootopia until January 4, along with plenty of festive joy. Iconic scenes are brought to life and paired with dazzling lights and a five-metre Christmas tree. Kids can enjoy face painting experiences, headband workshops and a ‘solve the case’ mission. In the open piazza, a glowing Central Station stands ready to whisk youngsters to the heart of Zootopia! Venture. Step aboard the Zoo-tastic Train to meet brand new characters like Gary De’Snake, Dr Fuzzby and Jesus the lizard. Inside the mall on level two, enjoy a Christmas tree decorated with doughnut and Pawpsicle ornaments.
