Add a touch of French flair to mum’s special day with Babette’s special four-course lunch. Enjoy the warmth and conviviality of this Central-located Parisian-style bistro with a menu that features a selection of dishes created especially for Mother’s Day by executive chef Cédric Tsia. Start with Tartare de Boeuf en Toast along with Tomates Anciennes - heirloom tomatoes with cured strawberries and confit tomato. Move onto gnocchi served with garlic-miso cream, comté cheese and fresh herbs. Mains include Babette’s signature Poulet Jaune and Cocotte de la Mer with octopus, clams and Murray cod and round off the event with a serve of Babette’s signature creamy rice pudding.

This newly opened restaurant at Ocean Terminal positions itself as a ‘modern Asian steakhouse’ and is keen to win early plaudits with a special Mother’s Day menu. The venue is one of Hong Kong’s best for harbour views - don’t be put off by its shopping mall location. On May 10, the dining spot is offering a four-course Mother’s Day Surf-and-Turf Menu featuring fresh ocean catches and prime steak cuts. Start with an amuse bouche before enjoying The Orient Seafood Platter with Hokkaido scallops, fresh oysters, seabass and sashimi. Main options include Australian wagyu striploin ‘fire-kissed’ on the house Josper grill, and charcoal-grilled sea bream fillet. Finish with a decadent pandan chocolate mousse crowned with coconut cream and mango pearls.

Head up to the terrace of the moment and the self-styled ‘tropical brasserie’ that is the stunning Terrace Boulud. The freshly launched Mandarin Oriental restaurant helmed by internationally-acclaimed French chef, Daniel Boulud, has now crafted a Mother’s Day menu to mark mum’s special day on May 10. Lunch is four courses (or five courses for a dinner sitting) and includes floral-inspired dim sum and other sharing plates, like foie gras and confit duck terrine and burrata and cherry tomato salad. Mains are a lobster soup and mushroom chawanmushi (steamed savoury custard) or beef tenderloin and braised short rib. And mum will be tickled pink with a pretty rose ice cream and strawberry gelato dessert. (Please note that children are welcome to dine at Terrace Boulud before 9.30pm).

Dig into a Mediterranean-inspired feast on Queen’s Road at LPM. The French Riviera-styled restaurant will be serving its Saturday brunch, ‘La Vie en Rose’, on Sunday as well to incorporate Mother’s Day. Two brunch packages include ‘A Mocktail Life’ at $688 including the brunch plus free-flowing non-alcoholic drinks, while ‘A Champagne Life’, as the moniker would suggest, incorporates free-flow bubbles and cocktails ($998 per person). Menu highlights include a plâteau de fruits de mer (seafood platter) with mains featuring marinated baby chicken and roasted beef with red wine sauce. Sweet treats specially for Mother’ Day feature a new range of cream cakes including a splendid gâteau aux fraises and, riding the current popularity wave, a gâteau au matcha.

The Mother’s Day Unlimited Cicchetti Brunch is available on both May 9 and 10 at Cantina and features classic Italian dishes prepared with fresh and seasonal ingredients. Dig into trattoria-style plates of homemade pastas, followed by tasty mains and indulgent puddings. Italian favourites include rich eggplant caponata, baby octopus, arrosticini (Italian meat skewers), roasted beef with rocket and tomato tart. To share, there’s rigatoni all’amariciana and burrata e tomato, and signature dishes feature Australian t-bone steaks, gratinated king prawns, breaded veal cutlets and chef’s lasagne (with a vegetarian option). Pudding is a mini tiramisu cone fest, with flavours like blood orange, pistachio, hazelnut and rocher. All in all, it's the perfect opportunity to sit down and relax with the family.

Enjoy a Spanish-style Mother’s Day Brunch high in the sky on the 20th floor overlooking Central. The brunch is accompanied by live music and includes four appetisers like tuna and avocado tartare, Ibérico ham with crystal tomato bread and finger-licking gambas garlic chilli prawn. Enjoy a sky-high Mother’s Day at Aqua with sparkling Victoria Harbour as the backdrop to a delicious brunch. Showcasing signature Japanese and Italian flavours, the Aqua brunch showcases a yummy and seasonally inspired menu. The Mother’s Day Brunch is available on both May 9 and 10 and includes two hours of free-flow bubbles. The brunch will be divided into two sittings on Saturday May 9, at 11am and 1.30pm, and three sittings on Sunday May 10 (11am and 1.30pm, and 6.30 in the evening). Rest assured the fun kids’ club will be available from 11am right through to 9pm. The brunch is served to the table and features a wide range of starters including sushi, maki rolls, sashimi, gyoza, wagyu, pizza and beef carpaccio. Choose from main dishes like sea bass, pork teriyaki, braised beef cheek, black cod and wagyu, and finish with a special Mother’s Day Dessert Platter.
