Etihad's covid insurance cover is valid for 31 days from the date of departure.
Etihad Airways is the latest airline to offer Covid-19 insurance cover. Following in the footsteps of Virgin Atlantic and Emirates, Etihad’s global wellness insurance is part of its new health and hygiene programme.
If you’re diagnosed with coronavirus while you’re away from home, Etihad’s wellness insurance will cover up to EUR150,000 of medical costs and up to EUR100 per day of quarantine costs for 14 days if you are diagnosed as positive for the virus.
The policy has been drawn up in partnership with global insurance firm AXA. All Etihad tickets, regardless of date of booking, for travel from now until December 31, 2020, will automatically include the Covid-19 insurance which is valid worldwide for 31 days from the first day of travel.
“The introduction of global Covid-19 insurance builds on stringent measures already in place as part of our Etihad Wellness programme,” said Duncan Bureau, a senior vice president at Etihad. “As more countries start opening their borders, we are making it as easy as possible for our guests to plan their next trip, hassle free.”
