A family-friendly resort has opened in Phuket close to the island’s popular Bangtao beach.

International hospitality group Accor has now launched ibis Styles Phuket Bangtao, a property inspired by Phuket’s sought-after west coast with ocean hues, sun-washed textures, sandy tones and coral accents.

The hotel offers rooms and suites and is a short walk from Bangtao beach. Each room comes with the signature ibis Styles Sweet Bed for a restful night’s sleep after a busy day sightseeing or relaxing on the sand.

Dining options include three restaurants; Carmine’s takes its cue from New York Italian cuisine, while Sun Flyer rooftop bar offers a Miami-style setting with sunset views. The Lobby Bar serves casual coffees and light bites throughout the day.

There are two pools, including a dedicated kids’ pool and a fitness centre.
