A fun new dining spot has opened in the new The Millennity building in Kwun Tong. Serving a mouth-watering selection of Southeast Asian favourites in a casual setting, Chao is a go-to if you’re looking for a yummy lunch option. Chao means a friendly ‘good morning’ and guests can be sure of a warm welcome. The space offers plenty of indoor seating as well as a large outdoor terrace - perfect for happy hour drinks. Menu highlights feature heritage-style curries from Vietnam and Thailand, as well as noodle dishes and street-style plates. Don’t miss the more-ish freshly prepared crêpe cakes.

Hong Kong’s most-anticipated new restaurant so far this year has finally opened its doors. Terrace Boulud by Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong is located on level 25 of Landmark Prince’s and enjoys sweeping city and harbour views. The space is helmed by Michelin-starred French celebrity chef, Daniel Boulud, and the kitchen is led by executive chef Aurélie Altemaire, whose career credits include Epicure and Le Bristol in Paris and ten years with Joël Robuchon in London. Terrace Boulud is styled as a French brasserie with a DB x MO Dim Sum collaboration; expect Cantonese-influenced dishes alongside French brasserie classics. The extensive wine list features more than 300 French labels, with champagne at its core, and there are plenty of Asian-inspired cocktails.

An Indian-inspired steakhouse has opened on Hong Kong’s Lyndhurst Terrace. The space draws inspiration from the lively army mess bars of historical India, with an affordable fine dining approach to Indian cuisine and live cricket, football and rugby played on the restaurant’s screens. The kitchen is helmed by Chef Angshuman Adhikari of London’s Brigadiers and Michelin-starred Gymkhana. At the heart of the restaurant is the Indian Chop House, where premium cuts are cooked in a charcoal pit. Menu highlights include the one-kilogram t-bones and tomahawks served with garam masala butter, and the Punjab Warriors tandoori mixed grill with lamb chops, chicken tikka, seekh kebab and grilled prawns. Or try signature lamb chops and tandoori malai chicken tikka from the charcoal pits. Puds run from Sticky Wicket toffee pudding, to brulé’ed Indian rice pudding.

The best new restaurants in Hong Kong spring 2026 - Swiss classics in Kennedy Town
A steakhouse and fondue restaurant opens in Kennedy Town on May 1. Stübli (pronounced Shtoo-blee) means ‘cosy little room’ and celebrates the hearty, Alpine comfort food of the north of Switzerland, honouring head chef and founder Matthew Ziemski’s family roots in Bern. The menu showcases steaks cooked the ‘Swiss Way’ with Australian wagyu, British pork and Dutch veal pan-friend in browned butter with garlic and herbs and finished with housemade sauces. Cheese fondues include a classic half-half Gruyère and Emmental mix, as well as fondue lobster thermidor and a summer black truffle fondue. The restaurant is located next door to sister venue, Nocino, which lauds the warmer, Italian-speaking south of Switzerland with housemade pastas and slow-braised meats.

Hora Hospitality Group, the team behind popular French restaurant Babette Social Eatery in Shueng Wan, has opened a classic French brasserie in Wan Chai. Bringing a “laid-back twist to classic French dining”, Chouchou’s kitchen is led by executive chef Cédric Tsia whose Hong Kong career credits include Mandarin Oriental’s Amber and Louise by Julien Royer. The restaurant celebrates authentic Gallic flavours in a friendly and upbeat setting. The 70-seat venue offers a cocktail bar, dining area with open kitchen and an outdoor terrace (book a terrace table while the cool weather lasts). Menu highlights include tartare de boeuf, raviole de crabe, tournedos Rossini (beef tenderloin topped with seared foie gras) and sharing plates like canard à l’orange and traditional tourte française with black truffle, Comté cheese, Parisian ham and potatoes encased in puff pastry.

This top Japanese restaurant has opened a Hong Kong outpost at Sugar+ in Causeway Bay. The venue will be serving Ramenya Shima’s acclaimed soulful broth and handmade noodles accompanied by Hong Kong-exclusive small plates. Headlining the menu is the award-winning shoyu ramen - just 60 bowls a day are prepared in the Tokyo flagship branch to ensure quality; in Hong Kong 120 bowls only will be available. The secret to the dish’s success is the tanrei-style broth which is from a secret recipe and is prepared fresh daily. Exclusive Hong Kong small plates feature homemade Japanese pork dumplings, chicken nanban (deep-fried in a nanbanzu sauce), diced chashu (soy-braised pork belly) donburi and truffle oil and akatsuki donburi.

La Vache!

The best new restaurants in Hong Kong spring 2026 - kids menus are now available at La Vache!
Not a new opening but for the first time the popular La Vache! group of restaurants has introduced a children’s menu. La Vache! by Black Sheep Restaurants is a chain of French brasserie-style eating spots famed for their steaks and unlimited French frites. Rather than the steak option, the new kids' menu features two mini burger sliders served with unlimited frites and with a scoop of gelato to finish. Colouring crayons are also provided. The Kids Menu is available daily at $138 per young diner. and is so far only available in the Pacific Place branch.

Michelin-acclaimed Italian restaurant LucAle has opened in a new space and with a new menu. The Sai Ying Pun-based eatery has moved just around the corner to Pok Fu Lam Road and a spacious new dining room and open kitchen. The bright and airy space is designed by Hong Kong-based Italian architect, Alberto Cipriani, and features contemporary furniture and fittings imported from Italy. To mark the new chapter, a fresh menu has been introduced. Highlights include Japanese prawn carpaccio, homemade ravioli pasta filled with white bolognese ragù, green taglioni with clams and Adriatic Sea baby cuttlefish, and guinea fowl ravioli with butter and sage, nutmeg and parmesan zabaione. Sweet treats include LucAle’s signature tiramisù, and millefeuille with Szechuan pepper, panna cotta foam and mandarin granita.

Mama Tiger

The best new restaurants in Hong Kong spring 2026 - Mama Tiger is spicing things up in Soho
This Soho-located restaurant from the group behind Wan Chai’s popular Trattoria Felino has now launched a significantly expanded menu that moves it beyond its original noodle focus. Thirteen tasty Thai street food sharing dishes have been introduced by head chef Thanit Changchai, who brings decades of experience from the kitchens of Bangkok. The relaunch includes a skewer menu, bold starters and flavoursome curries. Highlights include minced pork balls with pickled egg yolk, beef chuck roll with lime chilli sauce and tiger prawns, green curry duck leg with fresh coconut, and pan-friend scallops in yellow curry with pineapple and lychee. Signature dishes - including the restaurant’s popular wagyu beef boat noodles - remain at the heart of the menu.

This Michelin-recommended Tsim Sha Tsui restaurant launches a Yum Cha Until Noon menu this spring. Available from 10.30am to midday, Monday to Friday, the menu showcases 20 dim sum classics, house specials and puds - as well as offering a 32% discount on the final bill. Dim sum chef Ringo Wong has curated a balanced menu including tasty treats like wild mushroom and black truffle dumplings, angus beef rice rolls and plump har gow. Beyond the basket, siu mei house specials include honey-glazed Iberico char siu and roasted crispy pigeon. Wok favourites feature crispy noodles with shredded Kurobuta pork and shrimp-head-oil fried rice. Finish with a sweet chilled mango sago with Chinese pomelo or steamed red date pudding.
