Hostess trolleys with history from Hong Kong Airlines

A Hong Kong Airlines flight taking off from Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong.

If you’re looking for an unusual item to jazz up your living space, you might like to consider a Hong Kong Airlines inflight service trolley.

The trolleys have become collectors' items following an overwhelming response to last year's inflight service sale and Hong Kong Airlines is now offering a limited number for sale through SkyShop, its online duty-free shopping platform.

“We would like to thank everyone for their interest in our inflight service items,” said Hong Kong Airlines’ Chris Birt. “We hope that our new batch of decommissioned inflight service trolleys will bring joy to our customers.”

Each trolley carries “unique scratches and dents which represent its valuable service with Hong Kong Airlines, but also precious and memorable journeys with our crew and customers,” said Birt.

It’s suggested the trolleys could be used for storage or for home entertainment purposes, such as filling the drawers with Chinese New Year snacks and treats for a hostess trolley with history.

A limited number of inflight service trolley options are available. A half-size trolley costs HK$5,988 and a full-size model loaded with premium duty-free goods from SkyShop and exclusive Hong Kong Airlines branded items retails at HK$9,988.

It goes without saying in this day and age that all trolleys have been deep-cleaned and disinfected and are fully functional.
