Kellett School opens new sixth form centre

Hong Kong’s British international school has announced the official opening of its brand new, dedicated Sixth Form Centre.

The new facility was formally launched this month by His Majesty’s Consul General to Hong Kong, Brian Davidson, and Kellett Principal and Chief Executive Officer, Paul Tough.

The university-style campus is designed for up to 240 students in years 12 and 13 and is located at The Bay Hub on Kai Cheung Road, connected to the main school campus by a footbridge. 

Facilities run to more than a dozen classrooms, state-of-the-art study areas for both independent and collaborative work, a small lecture theatre, exam rooms, higher education and careers counselling rooms and social spaces to enable students to thrive both academically and socially. 

The classrooms have been laid out to accommodate a variety of teaching styles and include a collaborative Harkness room for discursive humanities lessons and a dedicated physical education classroom with fitness monitoring equipment.

“The opening of our new Sixth Form Centre in our 50th anniversary year marks an exciting milestone in Kellett’s journey,” said Tough. “More than a building, it’s a dynamic learning environment that nurtures the confidence, independence and intellectual curiosity that will serve our students through their lives.”
