LIV Golf Hong Kong tees off this month - the event is bigger than ever and with fun for the whole family

LIV Golf is back in Hong Kong this month and will once again be teeing off at the historic Hong Kong Golf Club at Fanling.

This will be the third consecutive year that the city has staged the popular three-day tournament. Organisers say visitors can expect a “high-energy” festival of sport, music, food and local culture. This year for the first time the event will be sponsored by HSBC and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

In a first for the competition, Hong Kong Ballet will be performing daily at the Tee Box on Hole 1 to celebrate the start of the competition - arrive early to secure a viewing spot, the first day's performance starts at 1.10pm.

Another fresh new event, ART + LIV Golf + HKWALLS, will see artist Sheung Wan painting a live mural throughout the tournament, as well as street murals displayed on course structures and drop-in workshops.

The Fan Zone is back and will include a wide range of fun and games for all ages, such as Dim Sum Chipping & Chopstick Chaos, Putt Express (a head-to-head uphill putting race modelled on the Peak Tram), Speed Strike & Beat the Basket, and a six-hole mini ‘harbour’ course featuring Victoria Harbour-themed obstacles.

The Fan Zone this year also features a special Kids Zone with a junk ship ball pit, interactive STEM activities (including a ‘build-a-boat’ station), Minecraft education, LEGO putting and virtual reality golf experiences.

There will also be plenty of food and drink to enjoy; a curated space in the Fan Village will be paying tribute to Hong Kong’s food scene with a focus on sustainability. Savour by LIV Golf will bring together sizzling street food and elevated plates with live cooking demonstrations from a lineup of celebrated chefs, including Shane Osborn of Arcane, Christian Mongendre of Treehouse and House of Culture’s Gavin Chin. And Bites of Hong Kong Food Market will be open daily from 10am to 6pm, blending Cantonese cuisine with international dishes with offerings from BBQ Bunker Burgers, Deli & Co, Gourmet Baked Potatoes and The Waffle bar.

Fans will also be able to enjoy live music, including a live headline set on the main stage from DJ Dom Dolla on the evening of March 7. Fresh from LIV Golf Adelaide, Dolla is performing for the first time in Hong Kong. Concert access is included with all ticket and hospitality types.

And, of course, there’s four days of live golf. This year, the field features 57 players, including reigning champion Sergio Garcia.
