The Singapore Grand Prix 2025 takes place from October 3 to 5.

The Singapore Grand Prix is a major event on the Lion City’s calendar and has been running since 1966.

The original Singapore Grand Prix was held between 1966 and 1973 on the Thomson Road Circuit and then returned in 2008 at Marina Bay after a 35-year hiatus.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit is a twisty circuit with some 90-degree turns and is often described as the toughest race on the Formula 1 calendar. High heat and humidity add to the challenges facing drivers. The race has a two-hour allotted running time.

The Singapore Grand Prix sells out quickly, with more than 250,000 race-goers attending last year. It’s also one of the most expensive races on the Grand Prix calendar; three-day tickets can cost as much as US$1,000. However, a ticket does include entrance to all entertainment and racing.

What's on

The Singapore Grand Prix hosts a variety of entertainment with live music, theatre and interactive installations. This year’s headline acts include Korean star G-Dragon on the opening night and Elton John is headlining post-race on October 5. Both stars will perform on the main Padang Stage. More live acts across the weekend include Foo Fighters, Crowded House, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Wombats and Tom Grennan.

Where to stay

In the lead-up to and during race weekend road closures can lead to circuitous taxi routes getting around the Marina Bay area. Be aware that cabs may not be able to pick-up or drop-off at your hotel during race weekend. If you’re attending the Grand Prix, the ideal is to pick a hotel within walking distance of the track, or alternatively use the MRT for the most convenient way of navigating the city. Hotels book up months in advance. Be aware that rooms with track views can be noisy, be sure to request higher floors if you want to take the excitement down a decibel of two.
