Raffles Sentosa Singapore opens with stay package - guests gather for the official opening party
The hotly anticipated Raffles Sentosa Singapore hosted a grand opening this month celebrating the arrival of the all-villa luxury resort on the island.
This is Singapore’s second Raffles property; Raffles Singapore on Beach Road is the original Raffles hotel, opened in 1887 and named for Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. The Raffles group today operates 27 properties worldwide with an ambitious pipeline of new launches.
Raffles Sentosa Singapore is the country's first all-villa resort, set within 100,000 square metres of lush tropical greenery. The property officially opened its doors in March and this month’s event celebrated the opening with a spectacular celebration in the hotel's grounds with more than 500 guests. The evening aimed to highlight the hotel’s dining offerings, with 48 chefs hard at work serving almost 7,000 canapes and other specialities.
Dining spots at the resort include Empire Grill, Raffles’ signature Italian restaurant serving Tuscan-inspired dishes alongside a curated selection of wines, Royal China serves Cantonese cuisine overlooking the hotel’s lush gardens, Raffles Room offers light bites and refreshments, there's Japanese omakase-style dining at Iyasaka by Hashida and the Chairman’s Room is a speakeasy bar for aperitifs, nightcaps and the hotel’s signature Singapore Sling.
Guests were welcomed in the Raffles Room with a Sentosa Sling, a twist on the renowned Raffles' classic cocktail but made with lemons grown in the resort’s gardens.
Meanwhile, Royal China served hungry guests ore than 1,400 pieces of its signature Royal Peking Duck, 40kg of honey-glazed Kurobuta pork and 25kg of roasted pork belly. Moving onto Iyasaka by Hashida, guests enjoyed seasonal delicacies such as hotaru ika (firefly squid) with caviar served alongside a celebratory 150 bottles of champagne and more than 500 Sentosa Slings.
To celebrate the opening, the hotel is offering a Welcome Home package, including daily breakfast at Empire Grill and a complimentary Sentosa Sling. Bookings must be made by October 31 for stays until November 30. Rates start from S$1,398 per villa per night.
