Twinpalms Tented Camp is the only luxury tented retreat on Phuket
If you’re looking for a wellness escape without the kids, the recently opened adults-only Twinpalms Tented Camp Phuket might be just the fit.
The plush resort opened at the beginning of the year and is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group. It offers 28 one- and two-bedroom tented suites on lagoon waterways that flow to the soft sands of Bangtao Beach a few moments away.
And now it has unveiled a new fitness studio and pool as well as new wellness offerings.
The resort currently offers a Spa Tent where therapists blend Thai healing techniques with contemporary therapies. Guests can receive treatments in the Spa Tent or in the privacy of their own tent.
The new fitness studio is fitted with equipment from German brand NOHrD. The space is filled with natural light and includes an outdoor cool-down zone with al fresco shower and an ice bath.
And in July the resort will open a new tropical pool, meaning guests can swim on-site rather than access the facilities at nearby Catch Beach Club.
The resort’s Daily Moments programme has been expanded to include wellbeing activities like sunrise meditation and yoga, lotus petal-folding workshops, mango and sticky rice tastings, chime hanging rituals and sunset campfire gatherings.
This is Twinpalms' third destination - the brand also owns properties at Surin and Kamala beaches - and is the first luxury tented retreat on Phuket.
“When I first looked at the Bangtao site I thought it was an opportunity for a rare blend of rural Thai landscape and modern beachside convenience,” said landscape architect Martin Palleros, who led the resort’s design. “The presence of water channels, large trees and buffalo creates a setting that feels immersive and natural - something you’d expect in the remote Thai countryside rather than near a popular beach destination.”
Twinpalms Hotels & Resorts general manager Olivier Gibaud said he hoped the new resort would provide a sanctuary for emotional connection and physical wellbeing. “I’m incredibly proud to see our third resort embody the spirit of our brand, standing out as a destination unlike any other in Phuket,” he said.
