Avani Singapore breaks ground in Tanjong Pagar - the 14-storey hotel will have a pool deck and various dining concepts

A new hotel is on schedule to open on Peck Seah Street in Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar district.

The 200-room property will be an Avani hotel, a luxury hospitality brand which will be debuting in Singapore.

The 14-storey ‘lifestyle hotel’ will be developed by the Thailand-based Minor Hotels group (which owns the Avani brand), Singapore-based Kajima Development and Abu Dhabi-based Al Wathba Investment.

Avani Singapore will offer an ‘elevated urban landscape’, blending the heritage of Singapore’s historic shophouses with Avani’s contemporary style. Facilities will include a pool deck, AvaniFit gym and dining concepts.

Tanjong Pagar is an historic district of conserved shophouses, bustling hawker centres and slick skyscrapers, all within Singapore’s Central Business District. The hotel will benefit from good connectivity; a pedestrian walkway will link Peck Seah and Tras Streets and the hotel is moments from Tanjong Pagar and Maxwell MRT stations.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held earlier this month, attended by the founder of Minor Hotels, William E Heinecke, Minor Hotels’ chief executive officer, Dillip Rajakarier, and Ureerat Chareontoh, the ambassador of Thailand to Singapore.

“Today's groundbreaking is a proud moment for Minor Hotels as we introduce the Avani brand to Singapore,” said  Heinecke. “With our trusted partners Kajima and Al Wathba, we are bringing to life a project that not only reflects our shared commitment to innovation and excellence, but also celebrates the city's unique blend of culture and modernity.”

Avani Singapore is slated to open in the first half of 2027.
