Nina Hotel Island South - the new-look hotel includes social areas for families to gather
A Hong Kong hotel has revealed a major refurb this month. The family-friendly Nina Hotel Island South has been transformed into an urban oasis, with a transformed lobby, refreshed rooms and a brand new communal area.
The hotel is conveniently located in Hong Kong Island’s Southside district, just minutes from Wong Chuk Hang MTR station and close to Ocean Park and the fishing town of Aberdeen.
According to Nina Hospitality’s managing director, Simon Manning, the HK$120 million renovation marks a significant milestone in the brand’s mission to deliver value, comfort and a contemporary lifestyle experience for guests. “Spaces have been designed to feel warm, flexible and family-friendly while offering convenient connections to Hong Kong Island’s attractions,” he said.
The redesign is the work of Hong Kong interior design studio, LAUD, and takes inspiration from Southside’s leafy outlook with plenty of natural wood, marble accents and soft lighting.
Natural oak and an ivory-toned palette have been introduced into the 432 rooms, complemented by safari brown leather and ivy green upholstery. Configurations include rooms with private balconies, family rooms for up to five guests, and signature balcony suites on the top floor. Freshly renovated family rooms and suites are slated to launch later this year.
Nina Communal, meanwhile, serves as a communal lounge where guests can cook, eat, drink and work. The space includes a pantry and bar with relaxed seating arrangements for socialising or working.
Opening discounts and reductions on long-stay accommodation are available.
