Hyatt to open Andaz Hong Kong - the new brand new property is part of the Central Crossing development

Hyatt has announced it will be opening an Andaz hotel in Hong Kong.

Andaz Hong Kong Central will be the first Andaz branded property in the city and is currently slated for a 2027 launch. The brand new hotel is part of the Central Crossing project, a mixed-use development in Hong Kong Island’s Central district. The project will also feature offices, green space and heritage architecture preservation.

Hyatt describes the new property as a “love letter to Hong Kong”, weaving heritage and new, east and west, business and creativity. The hotel will offer 125 rooms and suites, with premium options that will double as event spaces.

Further facilities will include a fitness centre, wellness offerings and an all-day restaurant.

The project will also feature the first Andaz Village, a bespoke retail, dining and wellness hub, located alongside the hotel.

Hong Kong was the location for Hyatt’s first hotel to open outside of the United States when Hong Kong Hyatt Hotel launched in 1969, a point noted by Hyatt’s group president for Asia Pacific, David Udell. “We are honoured to be part of this landmark project,” he said, "building on our deep roots in Hong Kong. The continued growth of the Andaz brand reflects our focus on intentional expansion in key locations and distinctive experiences for discerning travellers.”

“I have always loved Hong Kong,” added Amar Lalvani, Hyatt Lifestyle Group’s president and creative director. “There are so many hidden sides waiting to be discovered that often go unexplored. At Andaz hotels, we want to draw out those creative currents to give our guests an enriching exploration of this remarkable city.”

Hervé Mazella, Hyatt’s area vice president of Luxury for Hyatt Asia Pacific, has been appointed as general manager of Andaz Hong Kong Central.

The hotel is being constructed in partnership with Wing Tai Properties and CSI Properties and will be located in Hong Kong’s Central district centred between three recently renovated cultural complexes, Tai Kwun, PMQ and Central Market. The new building will be linked by footbridge to the district’s walkway system with both MTR and Airport Express stations within walking distance.

Further Asia-based projects in the Andaz pipeline include Andaz Shanghai ITC which is set to open at the end of the year and Andaz One Bangkok, scheduled for 2026 and part of the One Bangkok development.
