Mandai Wildlife Reserve is located away from the city in the north of Singapore and over the last decade has transformed  into a wildlife and nature destination, combining conservation with family-friendly entertainment. Its five five major wildlife parks include Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise and Rainforest Wild Asia, which opened earlier this year, as well as publicly accessible green spaces and an ever-expanding range of retail and dining options. The area also includes Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree, which launched earlier this autumn. More is still to come, with plans for a second phase of Rainforest Wild and Exploria, an indoor, nature-themed multimedia attraction. The most recent attraction to launch was Curiosity Cove, a nature-inspired indoor playsphere for children aged three to 12 years.

Southeast Asia’s first and only Universal Studios theme park is located at the Resorts World Sentosa complex on Sentosa Island. Zones include Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, Far Far Away (Shrek) and the recently opened Minion Land. Rides are a thrilling mix of scream-out-loud roller coasters and gentler attractions for younger children. If you’re based in Singapore, membership perks include discounts on food and retail, special offers on VIP tours, VIP turnstile entrance and previews of new rides and attractions. Alternatively, there’s a six-month season pass.

Singapore Cable Car launched in 1974 and since then has swung more than 60 million visitors between Mount Faber Peak and Sentosa Island. A second line, the Sentosa Line, swings guests over the Sentosa jungles and Keppel Bay. There are options for glass-bottomed SkyOrb cabins as well as cable car dining.

This popular attraction embodies Singapore’s ‘City in a Garden’ vision with a display of diverse plant life inside the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest at Marina Reservoir. But if you have littlies in tow, head to the fabulous Children’s Garden where you’ll find a toddler play zone waterpark for one-to-five-year olds, a maze of ropes, ladders and slides at Rainforest Treehouses for six-to-12-year olds and a Water Play area for six-to-12-year olds.

The most fun family attractions in Singapore - Wings of Time Fireworks Symphony explodes every evening

This multi-sensory night show is now bigger and better than ever following a major upgrade early in 2025 with an extended fireworks display four times longer than before. The show follows Shahbaz, a mystical prehistoric bird as he embarks on a journey with his friends. Sychronised fireworks, 3D projections, lasers and water fountains make Wings of Time Fireworks Symphony a stunning experience for the whole family, all backdropped by the ocean. There are two nightly performances, at 7.40 and 8.40pm and each lasts around 20 minutes. The show is a fine finalé to a fun day on Senstosa.

The most fun family attractions in Singapore - download the ImagiNite app for SensoryScape to come alive

The stunning Sentosa SensoryScape is a 350m corridor linking Resorts World Sentosa in the north with Sentosa's beaches in the south. The path combines nature, architecture and technology in six sensory gardens, including Lookout Loop, Tactile Trellis, Scented Sphere, Symphony Streams, Palate Playground and Glow Garden. SensoryScape is best viewed at night when the digital light art really brings it to life. Each garden is enriched with immersive and audio-visual experiences; you simply download the ImagiNite app and scan the QR code at each garden to come face-to-face with fluttering butterflies, leaping jellyfish and wiggling fish. From a simple pathway linking two areas of the island, Sentosa has come up with an imaginative destination installation that's a lot of fun for all ages.

SkyHelix

The most fun family attractions in Singapore - soar above Sentosa Island on board SkyHelix

One of the most fun attractions on Sentosa is SkyHelix, an open air gondola that gently rotates as it slowly climbs to 80m above sea level. It’s the tallest ride in the city; take a seat at night and the sparkling cityscape is stunning. Riders are seated around a sunken circular ‘stage’ from which a guide gives a potted history of Singapore as the ride gently spins 360 degrees. You can even take a drink up with you to sip on as the city slowly unfurls before you. SkyHelix is family friendly although riders need to be more than one-metre tall and under 12s must be accompanied by an adult. Top tip, if you’re not great with heights, don’t look down as your feet dangle 35m in the air.
