Singapore's most festive Christmas decorations - Orchard Road lights up for Christmas
Orchard Road is lighting up for the festive season with ‘Christmas On A Great Street’, featuring illuminations and a revamped Great Christmas Village. This year’s Christmas decorations incorporate the SG60 logo and Merli into a tapestry of sparkling Christmas wreaths, ribbon swirls and Christmas lights along a three-kilometre stretch of Orchard Road stretching from Tanglin to Dhoby Ghaut. Four photo installations marking Christmas in Singapore are positioned along Orchard Road, featuring a trishaw led by a reindeer, the main arch with Merli, a giant festive wreath and the Toa Payoh Dragon Playground motif. Make your own memories at the photo podium at the Main Arch over Orchard Road, in front of ION Orchard. The displays run until January 1, lighting up at 6.30pm each evening.

Meanwhile, the revamped Great Christmas Village at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza features a Kitztopia Christmas Carnival with new games and rides, festive food and drink and shopping opportunities. Eight fun carnival booth games include Tin Can Alley, Slingshot, Lucky Coin, Mini Bowling, Bowler Roller, Lucky Rope, Throw Hoops and Bucket Ball. New rides include a six-seater holiday carousel, a Ferris wheel, and Turbo Twisters. And kids won’t want to miss the Hitachi Santa House with the chance to meet the Big Man himself and have their photo taken. Christmas Market highlights at the village include a 14m Mastercard Christmas tree with accompanying snowfall shows at 8 and 9pm nightly. Visitors can also enjoy shopping opportunities, live entertainment and festive food and drink. The Great Christmas Village at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza opens each afternoon until 10.30pm and runs until January 1.

Shaw House Urban Plaza featuring Kidztopia Christmas Carnival includes a Rudolph Express train ride, Jolly Cruiser and Kidztopia Jingle Jump trampolines. Brand new games feature a shooting gallery, hook-a-duck and ring toss, as well as claw machines and merchandise retailers. Shaw House Urban Plaza runs until January 4.

Singapore's most festive Christmas decorations - the lights on Orchard Road stretch for three kilometres
Head along Orchard Road to Hilton Singapore Orchard to enjoy 3D Christmas light projection shows. The displays take place on the right wall of the hotel from 7pm daily and each Christmas-themed show lasts for around three minutes. On Christmas Eve there will be a Christmas Countdown Moment just before and after midnight. And on New Year’s Eve, another countdown display - both before and after midnight - will take Singapore into 2026.

Sentosa Island is using the festive season to mark the release of the film Wicked: For Good with Discover Your Good, a magical escape featuring sparkling installations and experiences. The adventure begins at Sentosa Sensoryscape which has been transformed into the Yellow Brick Road. Visitors follow the iconic path to the heart of Sensoryscape’s Glow Garden to Glinda’s Bubble where they can step and be surrounded by vibrant tulip blooms. As the journey continues, the main walkway is dotted with character photo moments and after dark, the path is illuminated, guiding visitors to the Emerald City. The walkway continues to the Lake of Dreams in Resorts World Sentosa with a glittering Emerald City installation, finally ending at Universal Studios Singapore with the opportunity to meet the Wizard of Oz himself. The Discover Your Good installation at Sentosa Island runs until January 4.

The popular Christmas Train Show returns for a second year at Gardens By The Bay, this time featuring 20 model trains steaming along 150m of tracks laid in the centre of the Flower Dome. The journey takes the trains over bridges, through tunnels and on American holiday-inspired trails, passing icons such as the Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Station and the Golden Gate Bridge. In celebration of SG60, a specially commissioned G-scale SMRT train will weave past miniatures of Dragon Playground, Supertrees and heritage shophouses, all crafted from recycled Singapore wood. Around 7,000 plants, including more than 70 plant varieties such as holly, mistletoe, cyclamens, poinsettias and fir trees, complement the landscape and fill the Flower Dome with an unmistakably festive vibe. The Christmas Train Show runs daily until January 4.
